BARGAIN - OcUK 24" with DVI (*VA Panel) for £179.99+VAT (This Week Only Deal!!)

Man - that's got to be annoying. And to think, I was annoyed at having a faulty VA panel, and then received a working VA panel second time. I can't imagine how frustrated you must feel. :(

If it were me, I'd probably drive down there and give them a piece of my mind. I mean, how hard can it be just to check the monitor before they ship it out?! It really makes me think whether they're only sending out VA panels to those who are sending TN panels back demanding a replacement, in an attempt to clear all the contaminated stock. I wonder if you were to RMA & Replace (as opposed to ordering a new one) whether you would've got a VA panel instead...

Absolutely ridiculous in my opinion. OcUK needs to send emails to everyone who bought one and make sure they received a VA panel. I can only imagine the hundreds of people out there thinking they have a decent panel when really it's not what they actually paid for...

excactly... and the fact they've stated multiple times they have gone through all the stock...

nothing i can do about it though, just going to have to RMA again :(

easter weekend too, so i wont be getting a replacement for about another week now. oh the joy.

Rerun the test in the day time with natural light, preferably with the sun shining on the monitor. If you have the option to set the ISO on the camera set it to the highest value too. Should be able to get 1/100s.

Get it collected on Tuesday. The TN panels were better than I thought they would be.

Errr reguarding the time pics, i think you meant to have it running on the TFT at the same time, side by side and then see the differance between the times when you snap a picture...

Not sure about this screen yet and time is running out... if i want a screen to play a few games and have some photoshop time on it, will this do the job or spend a bit more and get the dell?

<ColiN>

Both screens are there Col, just scroll right to see the TFT :)

It's kinda hard to read the numbers (maybe a faster shutter speed / less exposure would help) but the lag in those pics seems to vary from around 0.5 (maybe less) to 2 frames based on those pictures. For anyone who doesn't understand what's going on, the screens are both running 60 Hz, so each frame the counter increases by 16 ms (1000/60).

Hard to put a real number on the lag without clearer pictures and more results, but it's definitely no worse than 32 ms, so plenty less than the 2408WFP, and I guess the average looks be around 10-20 ms although there's a large amount of estimation in there so take that with a large pinch of salt :)

(btw if anyone posts more input lag pics, please resize them, as long as we can read the numbers that's fine :D)

Btw here's the link to the lag program pingu666 was using, the downloadable exe version should be the best version-

My 2nd RMA should get delivered tomorrow :S I hope its a VA, as most people seem to be getting VA panels. My postage refund should come through soon although it is bank holiday weekend.

Got my monitor today. setup and is a SA-LTM240M2-LO1

very nice no glossy, pixel walk or damage this time

only thing is i am not sure if I liked the colours on the glossy tn better than this or not lol.

You should be happy with that. The panel in your monitor retails for ~£1000 in the Eizo models... If you don't want it, I'll have it!! ;)

Well, I dunno, but in my opinion OcUK should offer you City Link next day pickup and next day delivery free of charge, simply because of the trouble you're going through. I understand that this may not be 100% OcUK's fault (due to DGM supplying the monitors), but a business like OcUK should be prepared to take full responsibility - especially when publicly announcing that they've separated TN from VA (when, quite obviously, they haven't, or they're purposefully trying to ship out as many TN's as possible in order to get rid of them at a higher price hoping that their customers wont know).

Hello guys,

I have started reading the thread from November but decided to ask the question as I had realised that I would need quite some time to go through.

The question is: Is it guaranteed (if I ordered now) that I would get PVA panel? One more question would be: Were the problems people had connected with the panel itself or were these related to the quality of the product itself (e.g. displays bleeding, etc.)?

Thank you in advance!

Cheers,
Paul

Received my replacement monitor today after getting a TN panel, the new one is an LG (AU-M240UW01-V0) panel and is Matt black with 180 viewing angles. Like a few others mine had a tick on the side of the box. The service was really good from the support department, who arranged free pickup of the TN panel, without any explanation apart from the fact I received a TN instead of VA.

Good choice not read the whole thread I think! The question you ask is no. So9me panels are turning out to be S-PVA, some Premium MVA but this is just random and the latter seems more common. I suspect that at this price, DGA have just bought up lots of cheap units rather that use a regular supplier. The screen are using Sumsung and LG panels though so they are pretty good.

Basically, this is a basic good value monitor, minus the variety of positioning you get with a normal monitor. If you must have PVA then look at the Dell 2407 which is S_PVA and on offer, I think, of the 2408 both of which come with a very well designed stand as well. The sang is that they are about twice the price.

I just got my two replacement monitors, and they're both VA (hooray!)

Unfortunately they are also both faulty :(

One has a scratch on the screen which is right in the middle and about and inch or two long, and makes a suspicious electrical crackling noise whilst it is plugged in but turned off or on standby (but works. I'm scared to leave it on though so it's going back). The other one displayed a picture for about 1 second when I first turned it on (after letting it warm up from a trip in a cold van) and since then it's just been displaying vertical lines. *sob* :(

hmmm all is not good in the world of VA!!

my monitor keeps cutting out and displaying blank screen. not sure what it is.

I get no disconntected thing come up and blue light stays on...

Not looking forward to returning this again:(

oh and only way to get it working it seems is to turn it on and off a few times.
