BARGAIN - OcUK 24" with DVI (*VA Panel) for £179.99+VAT (This Week Only Deal!!)

Looks like back light problems is the next thing here. My first monitor today is fine but the second is quite a pale grey when ti should be black due to back light leakage. Another RMA tomorrow I'm afraid.

Glad to see you got at least one working prescott. Good luck with the other !

reading through some of the posts....would any of you guys recommend this monitor ?

Very much so, although I got mine just as they started sorting out the issues, according tot he list my panel goes into other manufacturers monitors that are £400+ :D

I have excellent viewing angles, no dead pixels or bleeding.....

One of the Samsung panels?:) Lucky you;)

i have one of samsung panels..... it would be good if it worked:)

This monitor runs fine at 1680x1050. In fact someone posted earlier that they had left it at that lower resolution (for testing purposes) and totally forgot that they were not running the native 1920x1200 res.

cheers sunama, now i just gotta decide if 24" is too big :) will be sitting about 2.5 ft away from the screen. Looking at getting this 24" & a 9600GT or 8800GT :) lets hope it on offer soon.

Are they now also guaranteed to be VA panels? I have a 26" LCT TV samsung Spva panel and it looks Shoit hot :)

Also am i right in thinking there are currently no VA 22" panels? only TN?? (heard it some where keep meaning to ask)

cheers chaps

Rex

It is not just the waiting though, but the waiting in for the carrier to collect / deliver the monitor. If you can manage this or someone can it is sort of OK.

I have one panel I bought in Feb which has gone back twice and is now happily sitting on my wife's desk. Compared with my son's Dell 2407 is is pretty good. (Sorry, should have put in pictures I suppose.)

My other is having it's second RMA as it is the right panel but has the same back light problems as the pictures further up this thread. When it comes back and is right, I'll post pictures of the Dell alongside. It returns on Tuesday so, with luck, is should be back next weekend. *Crosses fingers, toes* :)

how do you get the stand off for shipping? overclockers told me could be done but could be tricky and might need two people but didnt go into any specifics, dont want to knacker the stand taking it off or owt

If you look at the underside of the stand you can see two lever close ot the edge. Squeeze them together and, eventually, you can remove the base.
