Well i just received my Eye One calibrator. I ran through the calibration on the Match 3 software and i thought it looked a little on the bright side. It had set the luminance to circa 480cd/m2!
So i downloaded the latest version of BasICColor to double check the results and they were way way off. Fortunately this software can use my Eye One to calibrate aswell, so i tried that. Validated at the end and everything was fine.. Luminance corrected to 118cd/m2, average DeltaE of 0.71. Oddly the black point was 0.67cd/m2, giving me a contrast ratio of 175:1, which i thought was pretty poor. I'l be doing some fiddling to see if this can be improved, it's all new to me.
I got some prints out from the lab to just do a quick screen check (After both calibrations) and the BasICColor calibration was spot on. Match3 was way WAY off. Unfortunately colour proof profiles aren't the jazziest looking things, so i'l probabaly use another more vibrant preset for general use, gaming, movies, etc.
