BARGAIN - OcUK 24" with DVI (*VA Panel) for £179.99+VAT (This Week Only Deal!!)

I just got a PS3 but when I connect it to my VA Panel, I get a blank screen. Does this mean my monitor doesn't have HDCP?

I connected it via a HDMI cable and then hdmi to dvi. It worked on another monitor (22" LG TFT).

Help please :)

The ocuk value 24" monitor in this thread is not HDCP compliant. From what other people with PS3s have said, the monitor needs to be HDCP compliant. Your PS3 wont work with this monitor and to get around it, you will need to buy the HD Fury.

Someone who is using this screen with a PS3 will be able to give you more details.

Anyone have some info. in regard to input lag? At this moment and time i'm considering the Samsung SM-2232BW, which i hope is as fast as the 226BW was. If the OCUK 24" compares well then i might consider it. Thx.

Well i just received my Eye One calibrator. I ran through the calibration on the Match 3 software and i thought it looked a little on the bright side. It had set the luminance to circa 480cd/m2!

So i downloaded the latest version of BasICColor to double check the results and they were way way off. Fortunately this software can use my Eye One to calibrate aswell, so i tried that. Validated at the end and everything was fine.. Luminance corrected to 118cd/m2, average DeltaE of 0.71. Oddly the black point was 0.67cd/m2, giving me a contrast ratio of 175:1, which i thought was pretty poor. I'l be doing some fiddling to see if this can be improved, it's all new to me.

I got some prints out from the lab to just do a quick screen check (After both calibrations) and the BasICColor calibration was spot on. Match3 was way WAY off. Unfortunately colour proof profiles aren't the jazziest looking things, so i'l probabaly use another more vibrant preset for general use, gaming, movies, etc.

Adrianr, from what you say, would it not be best to simply use the naked eye to set up the monitor, to your own preference, bearing in mind that you didnt seem to like the settings chosen by the software?

Hi all,

I have been trawling through some of this ma-hoosive thread, and am looking at adding a monitor to my (already expensive!) system build. However, can someone please answer me this, with regards to this monitor:

1) Is there any smearing at all in games?

2) Is it HDCP?

1. I havent used it for playing games, but others have and report that it is great for game playing with good response.

2. No.

Well yes and no. The preset from the Match3 software was off, though i'm pretty sure that was down to user error, looking through it again im almost positive i didn't do it right. Especially after seeing Badasses results. Using BasICColor gave a brilliant result, but accurate isn't always the nicest looking.

There is also an option to adjust colour temperature to 6500K daylight, or a slightly yellower tone more akin to typical lab prints. Every print i have conforms to this so i guess i'l just have to bear it in mind.

I could have just set it up to how i like it to look, but im after accuracy. After resetting to default and checking in BasICColor, all the colours were well off. Another thing to note is now i've been away from the PC a while and came back, the screen looks perfectly normal now i don't have an immediate comparison point.

Edit: I've found out why the Match3 profile was so off. Vista isn't loading it. BasICColor seems to be able to get everything to play, but not Match3. Profile is set as default in Colour Management, it just isn't showing it. Badass, any help?!

Does anyone have any experience of returning these direct to digimate?

My 2nd one has packed in after about 4 months of use, with a solid horizontal red line right down the screen and after a call to OC-UK I was told to return it directly to the Manufacturer.

Called them on Friday and Citilink collected the faulty monitor today, so it's so far so good but my concern now is whether the replacement will be a VA or TN panel and if I have any comeback if the manufacturer sends me a TN panel as a replacement when I bought the monitor on the basis of it being a VA.

Thought I'd provide an update on how this is going, I'm really disappointed, Digimate have provide 0 communication on what's happening, I called earlier this week and was told that it would take up to 7 business days and then they would call me, today is the 9th business day so I called them again. I've now been told that the monitor needs a new panel but they don't have any in stock, they are waiting for a shipment and they also don't have any complete monitors in stock either.

So it's only through the lucky fact that I was using a dual monitor set up and have another monitor to use that I can use my PC at all. I know the monitor was cheap but this is really disappointing.

A Work mate has just got his Yakura Model and my word is it better than the DGM!

It comes with HDCP as we know, but also with a DVI -> HDMI cable and the mount holes on the back has a metal plate which is not only more solid but will allow you to mount stuff simpler too.

The only downside being that the monitor was not all black, it had a strange silver bevel on the front.

Just received one of these monitors.
Very pleased VA and no dead pixels.

Stand could be a bit more robust and the blue led is a bit bright but overall excellent VFM.

whats the 360 like on this monitor over vga? Any pics etc please :) What kinda res should I choose when I get the 360?

Seconded, im also interested in getting this to play 360/PC games

Ive seen the video posted earlier but any chance of some high res pics?

Argh

Well i finally got replacement for my second monitor that was dark and seemingly incapable of displaying white......to get the same panel type back. Still dark and grey/blue instead of white in the background.

Cant b doing with the hassle of more RMA that cost me for the damned shipping so will just have to put up with having dual screen monitors, exact same model but one looks good and the other is hideous :/

Guys, does anyone have any experience with a 'hissing' screen?

Despite the fact that this new monitor again seems incapable of displaying a decent white colour, it also makes more noise than my tower. My old one makes no noise at all.
