It looks really nice, supposedly its running in HD @ 1080p. Looks a lot nicer than my Samsung 2232bw pebble :s

Makes me think the settings on this (pc monitor / samsung) need some tweaking. The DGM looks so bright and nice

Cool,

Nephew's getting one of these after seeing mine (he's into xbox etc) hence me asking

He's going from a 17" crt (he's got a decent rig now but was waiting to get a decent lcd monitor) to this 24"

He's well impressed not only with 24" but the price (always helps lol)

Took him many times to the shop so he's calling in later in the week for his

Cheers

Yeah i agree with all said. Excellent monitor! I set up a dual screen setup with my old TFT monitor (19" BenQ, 2ms g2g response time) and I couldnt notice any lag at all between the two.. Played UT3 on it, some Crysis, Assassins Creed, Guitar Hero 3, and Age of Conan on this screen, and i cant notice any blurring at all over my old screen.

Very happy with it so far. Just hope it doesnt let me down, as i like the screen in it which is also used in the £900-£1000 eizo!

I assume S-PVA is one of the best?
You would never see it looking back and forth between 2 monitors, it’s only 1/20 of a second. You would have to see it in slow motion to pick it up. Its what you feel under the mouse. If you don’t see it don’t look for it. It’s not a problem to be honest.

No idea which panel is the best. Think they all have different good points and bad points. Would be good if we could line them all up and pick the best. “I’ll have that bright colourful one please :D

With having the yuraku version supporting HDCP, will i get better image quality (not that it can improved on much) by using the HDMI -> DVI cable? I have a DVI-HDMI adapter for my GPU... is it worth it over the hi-qual DVI cable i have?

No, with your S-PVA panel the VGA input looks just as clear as the DVI input.
I tested it and could not see the difference. Reading other peoples posts with different panels have reported VGA is poorer in the case for them.

HDCP is to allow hardware items like blue ray player, PS3 etc to work that have some sort of copyright thing, without it you get a black screen.

Hey Cruicky, I guess thats the difference between the AU A-MVA panel in mine and the Samsung S-PVA panel in yours. If you are near Bristol and wanted to swap your S-PVA for my A-MVA and have virtually no input lag, I would gladly do so, as I don't game and would prefer your panel ;)

Heehee Gregeff, thanks for the offer but this one is going to be chained to my desk. No one gets this one :D. Would have been nice to have a 0 lag panel but will stick to this one.
Ps. I live up north near Newcastle.

Cruicky

Only hang up with this i've found is the unhealthy sounding "electric" buzzes for about 5 minutes after you switch it off.
Is this normal? Its no big deal if it is but I'm just worried it might be a bad sign of something wrong with the panel. Everything else to do with it is perfectly fine.

Hiya,

Must say mines never made a noise (but really i am going deaf got 2 over-ear aids) so may not be the best to reply (now with hearing aids in i can hear a sparrow fart @ 25yrds lol)

Best do a search and see what the results yield

Can you elaborate on this buzzing sound ??

Similar to a blue bottle fly pestering you or a neighbour with a wampant wabbit through thin wall

May give some lcd inverter guru's an idea of problem or no problem

I'm was thinking of ordering one of these in the next week or so. Current batch seems to be AV-M240UW01-V0.

But I think I will also need to upgrade my graphics card (8800GTS 320MB) but don't want to do that until the new cards are out.

I guess i'll have to sit on my hands to stop myself from pressing the buy button:p

Errr well the buzzing kinda sounds like a minature version of that zzzzt zzzzt noise you hear around pylons (i think haha :s). It isnt a constant noise it sorta breaks and starts again.

(just to clarify: this only happens when i turn it off and lasts for a couple of minutes)

Interesting, now I'd just need someone or OCuk to open up the monitor to confirm the PSU board in these AUO v0 screens are backlight mod compatible...!

Then there's gonna be a real rush to buy up these monitors.

I had this problem with my last one, it happens due to the transformer. If I left it on standby ie the led on the buzzing went on then off then on and off, i got my last monitor replaced due to background bleeding and my new one if i put my ear up to it i can just about hear it however it would never be noticeable otherwise, if you where really desperate about it you could ask for a replacement but if your fine with it then think everything will be ok

The most annoying thing about it was at night when i was trying to sleep as all i could hear was the monitor, just wondering when did you get your monitor?

I got it a few days ago. It could be annoying if i'm trying to sleep like you said. Thats the only thing. Don't know whether to bother getting it replaced hmmm :(

Don't quote me on that as I am just basing that on reading the posts over the past few weeks.

Friend has just bought one of these ocuk monitors and is very happy with it :)

Running it with an 8800GT 512mb just dandy :)

I had to return my Yuraku because my eyes hurt after 10-15 mins of use (especially during evening). Had to wear sunglasses behind the monitor...
I've had this with every LCD I've owned, they seem massively bright for the first week, then somehow you just get used to it.
