BARGAIN - OcUK 24" with DVI (*VA Panel) for £179.99+VAT (This Week Only Deal!!)

What monitor settings do people have.

I'm using:-
Brightness 45
contrast 64
Red,Green,Blue all at 50

I'm using 47% brightness (anything lower an dark detail suffers)
contrast 40% (to remove some of the brightness)
Red,Green,Blue all at 50 too

Has anyone registered there monitor on the Digimate site?
It won't recognise my PIN

Same here. I gave up.

Same here, and gave up

Had same problem.
Used pin code as S/N number and Model number (the long one which begins with PCM-LCD********) as P/N number.

Even though no numbers were accepted i pressed submit anyway. Recieved a email a couple of days later saying it was all good ;)

I'm noticing that small black text on a white background can have a slight greenish tint which was not noticeable on my previous 22" LCD

I'm thinking of getting one of these but I'm a bit concerned about the brightness of the power LED and also the brightness of the screen, which as far as I understand you cant adjust via the brightness control

It is quite a lot brighter than my previous Acer TN 22" (and the 17" Dell's we have at work, for instance the OcUK forum blue background looks very dark blue on the Dell). The default settings on the Acer were brightness 100 and contrast 50 even then it was darker than the DGM with brightness set at 50.The problem with brightness of 100 on the Acer was than colours looked 'washed' out and details that were faint could not be seen at all,no amount of contrast or brightness adjustment could fix this without adversely affecting other aspects of the picture.

I have the DGM now set at brightness 50 and contrast 63 and this seems okay.

Has anyone adjusted the gamma settings on their graphics card to help with the brightness?

I have to say I was disappointed a the brightness. It's probably because I was transitioning from a CRT to an LCD rather than LCD to LCD, but I expected it to be BRIGHTER. In a well lit room, with lots of natural light, sometimes it can look positively flat to me! At night it does look good, but I wouldn't say overly bright at all.

Yeah it doesn't work. Just darkens the screen too much

Funny the difference in experience :)

I'm getting mine Tuesday, I'll let you lot know what kinda panel I get, hoping for a good one with no dead pixels. :)

Good luck. I'm sure you'll get a nice one ;)

Im sure overclockers advertise them as PVA panel, you have the distance selling laws on your side anyway.

Dont forget, there was a shed load of folk who ordered monitors, you only hear from people who had problems, i know a good few people, myself included who got a great panel and have not had any problems. The quality of screen is better than on my previous dell 2407.

Not gonna order from OCUK, it's £40 cheaper elsewhere. I'll take a risk and go for one then, I just pray I don't get dead pixels. :|

That's my main concern!

I know of at least 6 people who bought this monitor from OcUK. None have dead pixels.

I too found the screen a little cheaper else where but they don't qurantee VA panel like OcUK do
