BARGAIN - OcUK 24" with DVI (*VA Panel) for £179.99+VAT (This Week Only Deal!!)

Cheers for the info.
As regards the competitor if it's the one i'm thinking of, I can't see how they can ship TN panels with a viewing angle 180x180? I thought no TN panel can have these viewing angles?

Well on their online shop they don't actually specify the viewing angles, the monitor has the same manufacturers code though L-2442WD and it's a Digimate 24" monitor. The only info they give on the viewing angles : -
Viewing angle

The physical structure of LCD pixels can cause the brightness and even the color of images to shift if you view them from an angle rather than facing the screen directly. Take manufacturer's specifications with a grain of salt and make your own observations if possible; viewing-angle issues become more critical as panel size increases.

Ah good, I thought you emailed the competitor I ordered from where the viewing angles listed are those of a VA.

I would have paid extra for peace of mind (for a VA from OCUK guaranteed) but I'm already borrowing £20 to pay for the thing and I can't get any extra. :(

i got one from the place thats got the rip off name of the auction sight.

they advertised a VA panel, but i got a TN, but they have been nice and are coming today to pick it up and exchange it for a VA. i bought it 10th july, but i only realised 3 days ago

Yeah, the website I was on about is very good and actually states the viewing angles.
I would never buy a £200 monitor from the bay.

When you say exchange are they coming to your house to do a straight swap? :)

If I get a TN I'll do the same, but would be crappy being without a monitor!

I bought my OcUK 24" over a month ago and it has been fine. The screen is bright but not too bright. The only fault i have found is a very high pitch noise coming from the monitor in standby mode but it is very quiet and has not bothered me, even though i sleep about 3m away from it. Top monitor for the price.

BTW I wouldn't order from the competitor Shaffaa ordered from. They have, as of today, now removed the viewing angle from the spec of thier Digimate. Sneeky so and so's.

at the end of the day, its better to order from ocUK in the long run, there a phone call away, all the stuff is returnable and it does what it says on the label. for the sake of a few gold coins its ocUK all the way !

In this instance I totally agree.

they came and took my one away, and are now sending me a VA from their warehouse, which they will check.

after i pointed out their specs were wrong, they changed the listing... thats not good, but if they still say other things likes the brightness contrast response time and colours (ie 16.7M) then its a VA, but TNs are 16.2

check here to see if you have a VA or TN

i was a TN LG panel.

well i was on a very tight budget, so £200 was a max for my monitor, or in a heartbeat, (due to the customer service i have seen in this thread) i would have gone to OcUK

Lol strange I ordered one also and received a LG TN panel. It's also on it's way back, and yes they have, as of a few days ago, taken out the 180 viewing angle from the spec.

Out of interest have they promised you a VA panel as a replacement?
I've just asked for a refund as now I can't see them supplying me a VA panel, especially since they altered the spec for it.
I might take another risk on the 24" Yuraku, or I might pay the extra for the OCUK one.

that is what they said to me.

IF they cannot though, i will want a refund and ill spend the extra from OcUK.

I hope you get one mate, I just couldn't be arsed to go through all the return nonsence again. Although in thier defence the customer services have, so far, been very good.

I might wait until OCUK have it on offer again.

BTW what did you reckon to the viewing angles of the DGM TN panel?
I thought it was dire, my unbranded TN works monitor is better!

yep. i had it for 2 weeks before i notices, as i sat infront of my PC, then we had people around, i stuck on a 1080p film, sat back, and woosh, inversions.

im sure even my crappy LG 17" didnt do veiwing angles that badly.

Still loving my AU panel 24"

Can watch anything at almost side-on angles lol

(can be a pain though, fiancee sees what i'm looking at especially bitchy to me when i'm on friends reunited etc and then she aint too happy lol)

I got a TN mon by accident when i went to pick one up from shop, As it turned out it was fubar anyways lol

As said my ones still going great and i still can't believe it was so cheap :)
