Could be a good time to sell my VA Yuraku 24" now all these cheap screens are coming with TN or really laggy panels now.. Been wanting an excuse to get a IPS panel for a while :)

This monitor doesn't have hdcp so don't think it will work with the 360. But don't quote me on that as I haven't tried it with a 360.

I thought LCD screens are immune from image burn?

Apparently not, my wallpaper was burnt into about 40% of the screen and I couldn't get rid of it.

Edit: Called Image Persistence on LCDs, apparently fixable but I left it on a white background for about 12 hours and it didn't fix it. Also seemingly more prone to it than it was before, windows left for 30 minutes or so would leave a mark for days.

I have a 26" LCD HDTV and a faded dark line got "burned" down the left side, I was told this was because of watching TV that had black edges (eg not in widescreen or full mode)... there was one on the other side but it was not as visible as the one on the left. You could only see it when playing a console though as the image was clearer, I got a new back panel and it disappeared, however I sometimes get weird images "left behind" so to say, when I have been watching SSN or even playing my PS3, sometimes I see a fifa logo or a PES logo just sitting their in the middle of the screen, when there wasnt one there from the game :o

come to live with it a little though

So, bearing this in mind, LCDs dont really have an advantage over Plasma screens, when it comes to image retention. They both suffer from it.

I've got one of the Yuraku versions of this monitor, i'm very happy with it and wouldn't mind another one to sit beside it!
Does anyone know if there are still any places that are stocking non-TN versions. Obviously i'm not expecting anyone to name any competitors.

:)

I use this monitor for gaming and havent had much of an issue with ghosting. However whenever I watch a movie on it and the movies quite dark I can see the screen blurring really badly. Does this happen to anyone else?

Apologies if I shouldn't be bumping this thread, but I'm having a severe problem with this monitor and would like to know how to fix it, or how to send the monitor back. I'm very new to custom building computers so forgive me for my ignorance.

What's happening to this monitor is that it will fade quickly from normal picture to seemingly random vertical lines of black and yellow/blue. It seems to happen when I watch videos in iTunes or Windows Media Player, or play any sort of game. Also if a large portion of the screen has to show dark images, it will conk out. It can be fixed by turning the monitor off and back on again, but often this will just keep happening every 10 seconds or so until I quit all programs. I'm pretty sure it is a monitor problem since everything works fine and if you do a Print Screen, it all looks perfectly normal. Here are some pictures of what happens:

Any help would be appreciated. I'm not sure how to go about asking for a replacement, or if that's even possible now that this model has been discontinued. Also sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, I'm new to this stuff.

I wouldn't worry too much, you get a 3 year repair warranty with this screen anyways.

As for your problems, have you tried it on a different computer? and tried a different data cable?

Unfortunately I don't have any spare cables or another machine to connect it to. I did try using another monitor but it was about 6 years old and couldn't be connected to my computer.

How would I go about having it repaired?

Couldn't you take it to a friends house to test it?

If not it might pay to try another graphics card if you have one spare, just to try and rule out that as a problem.

As for getting it repaired, call 0871250 8000, you will need the model number, serial number and the pin code from the back of the monitor. You will also need to e-mail or fax them a copy of the invoice as proof of purchase.

If I'm honest I've not had the best of experiences with getting my monitor repaired, however the repair centre and call centre has been changed, so it may well be better this time around. They will collect your monitor from you in it's original box free of charge.
