BARGAIN - OcUK 24" with DVI (*VA Panel) for £179.99+VAT (This Week Only Deal!!)

The problem with that is they no longer stock the VA panels, the repair service is a much better option and you don't have to wait a year to use it.

Well i'm so far from missing the VA boat i'd need hubble to see it,
anyways seeing as theres a few knocking about in clearance with a bit of a mixed description regards TN/VA but im guessing it'll be a TN anyhoo, what i wanted to know was are the TN's that bad? i mean it's still a 24" and at £138!! it'd need to be really bad to still not be worth it surely?

I am directly infront of it anyway so angles arent an issue, just fancy an upgrade from my ol 20" phillips (ips panel iirc)

Apologies if I shouldn't be bumping this thread, but I'm having a severe problem with this monitor and would like to know how to fix it, or how to send the monitor back. I'm very new to custom building computers so forgive me for my ignorance.

What's happening to this monitor is that it will fade quickly from normal picture to seemingly random vertical lines of black and yellow/blue. It seems to happen when I watch videos in iTunes or Windows Media Player, or play any sort of game. Also if a large portion of the screen has to show dark images, it will conk out. It can be fixed by turning the monitor off and back on again, but often this will just keep happening every 10 seconds or so until I quit all programs. I'm pretty sure it is a monitor problem since everything works fine and if you do a Print Screen, it all looks perfectly normal. Here are some pictures of what happens:

Any help would be appreciated. I'm not sure how to go about asking for a replacement, or if that's even possible now that this model has been discontinued. Also sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, I'm new to this stuff.

I've got this exact same issue. Tested the monitor on two PC's and the problem persists.

So I guess the monitor is screwed and there is no way to fix this. Didn't expect to find someone else with the same issue which is a little worrying.

So is the manufacturer able to fix/replace with another PVA pannel? And how long have people found it takes for them to get it back to you. This is my second monitor to go faulty... You get what you pay for I guess.

I forgot that I ended up getting the monitor in a local shop and not from OcUK.

It would appear I have lost my receipt so unless there is I way I can fix it, looks like im buying a new monitor :(

Tried contacting the shop for a replacement receipt? I expect they keep records so you might be luck.

These screens come with a 3 year repair warranty so it's well worth trying.

you dont receipt as proof of purchase (legally, as receipt is not legally required at POS). bank statement etc with invoice email is good..

bank statement etc with invoice email is good..

Bought it in a shop not online, so no email. Will be able to get bank statement though. Im going to talk to the shop tomorrow.

On the subject, are shops (as in brick and mortar) legally required to deal with faults that occur with in year of purchase?

I have just purchased a L-2442WS from overclockers. Lovley monitor, although it has a dead pixel but it is very hard to see so on the hole it is a fab monitor. Tried to register but it would not register on line. Rang up DGM and they say it does not need to be registered for the 3 year warranty. Any one else heard of this?

Does this monitor does ful HD? Iam thinking about getting a blu ray internal drive for it, what do you guys think? Shame it hasnt got a HDMI port.

When I first did it you had to register online, if the scratch off to reveal pin number didn't work in the back you had to confirm the details over the phone and provide proof of purchase.

However the repair warranty has since been taken over by another company (the previous company being aload of rubbish IMHO). When I sent my monitor in to them recently, I had to provide all the details again and proof of purchase via e-mail. So it's possible they use a different system and you just provide the details when you claim on the warranty.

What was the number you called?

It's a 1920 x 1200 resolution monitor, so slightly above 1080p resolution, so it will support it.
