BARGAIN - OcUK 24" with DVI (*VA Panel) for £179.99+VAT (This Week Only Deal!!)

Yeah but I was more on about how it attaches the plate to the monitor. If you look at page 6 of that PDF I linked to earlier, there appears to be two options. Standard screws and some kind of unthreaded thumbscrew type mounts. Obviously if there are no threads in the holes on the back of your monitor, you can't use screws unless they are self tappers and the hole in the plastic is smaller than the screw shaft.

You will want to be careful with any mount on the DGM as it does not have the actual screw fittings. It's just a the plastic that has been drilled into - i never trusted it on mine!

Indeed, it appears that it may not meet VESA standards as like you say there is no metal mount behind the plastic. I expect this was a cost cutting measure.

Has anyone had a problem where the screen flashes black repeatedly? It's been getting steadily worse for a few weeks and is now unusable. It's not the graphics card - I'm running two screens and the other one is fine.

Also, how long was the warranty on this monitor?

3 year repair warranty with DGM, which isn't great tbh.

You checked the cable?

I've just returned mine to OcUK because of a similar problem, it started flicking off and on and then got worse and worse until it wouldn't come back on at all.

What model you do have? It is extremely unlikely that it will work, as far as I'm aware none of the cheap DGM panels that OcUK sold support HDCP.

I think these are the details

BenQ G2420HD Widescreen Monitor 24.0 inch (1080i/1080p) TFT LCD 1000:1 300cd/m2 (1920 x 1080) 5ms D-sub/DVI-D/ HDMI 1.3/Headphone Jack (Glossy Black)

in my view is a far better monitor and for the same money.

ive had mine for a month now and im well chuffed with it.

got it on the wall with a vesa 75 bracket and looks superb.

Anyone got this monitor hooked up to a PS3?

I had an adaptor a little while back (about £30) that was meant to allow me to plug in a Wii or PS3 into a monitor via VGA. Never tried it out on a PS3, and it might not have been Hi-Def, but it worked fine on the Wii.

I'll have to disagree I'm afraid. First off, this offer was back in 2007, so you'd hope you could pick up a 24" monitor for the same or less now :p
But my main objection with describing your one as the better monitor is that, despite having an HDMI in, it's a TN panel. The DGM one in this thread is PVA IIRC; it has far superior viewing angles/colour quality.
The increased resolution could be good or bad, depending on what you use the monitor for, but personally I'd rather have the pixels.

So anyway, I reckon this DGM one is better than the Benq. :)

Can you even get these PVA DGM's anymore? Thought they were all coming with TN panels now? Even the Yuraku ones, which back in the day were a garunteed PVA panel, unlike the DGM lottery.
