BARGAIN - OcUK 24" with DVI (*VA Panel) for £179.99+VAT (This Week Only Deal!!)

What do you mean, so far? They stopped stocking these months ago, if not years!

Got 2 or 3 from OcUK when they had them in stock, and 3 or 4 from eBay and other suppliers :) They've mostly been for people I know cos I think this monitors so fluffin fantastic.

My PVA one is finally on its way out :(

Its had a gradually worsening image-persistence issue for the last year, mostly focused on the top left of the screen.

What is the warranty like on these panels?

I bought mine at the start of this thread and as yet, have had no issues with it, but I do get paranoid when others with the same monitor are reporting faults which are getting worse over time.

If it's a PVA version - wanna sell it? :p

I didn't realise what I have lol. Its been collecting dust as I went back to my 22" iiyama as a grahics card died so I used my old 8800GT. Now got a 5770 and a crossfire board so I plugged this 24" back in.

As I'm bored I'm gonna try this on me PS3.

EDIT: how do I check for VA panel?

So you could use a PS3 over HDMI with this monitor?

I am 99% sure my monitor isn't HDCP compliant. In the past I have had to use anyDVD HD to overide the need for HDCP, then HD works.

I just tried the ps3 using a DVI to HDMI lead and I got a blank screen.

Bad news, with the same lead my 22" iiyamma works perfectly with the ps3.

I guess my DGM isn't HDCP, as I suspected.

Firstly I think if the screen finish is matt it's likely to be a VA, and if glossy then a TN. Secondly hold the M and the + buttons together on your monitor (tip: press M a split second before the + to avoid going to black screen). The 1st model number in the white box tells you what kind of panel you have. I don't know where to reference and check though :p

Generally a TN panel will give you ultra bright and saturated colours whereas a VA is more natural and accurate.
