On a side note "nanahananah I have VA panel" lol

Best bargain I've ever had mate. Mine cost me about £180 but the cheapest one I've had was for £120 inc del.

Really astonishing panel, love it.

(tip: press M a split second before the + to avoid going to black screen). T

I never found out what mine was - I always got a black screen and this may explain why!

Anyway, I bought the monitor back in February 2008. In December (2009) I started having problems with it - green and black vertical lines all over (similar to ChiliFan's on page 161). It went in for repair on 15th December. I have phoned several times and they have been waiting for a new panel from HQ since December. They say they can't do anything until the new panel arrives and can't give me any more information, apart from the fact the manager contacts HQ every day about it (they say). The lady today suggested HQ should offer alternatives (I am wondering if a refund would be possible).

I had asked what type of panel it would be replaced with, and apparently they are only allowed to put in the same type as the faulty one. The one I had was good - you could view from most angles and I never noticed any darkness.

^ Hope that gets sorted for you. Kind of messed up for them to keep it that long. Check their warranty if it says anything about a time frame within which they have to repair and return the item back to you. Surely it can't be an 'infinite amount of time'..

Thanks, I can't find anything about a time frame for repairs. All I can find on their website is this:

What is covered?

What's the likelihood of me getting a VA panel as the replacement? If it is going to be a TN then I think I might as well try and get a refund out of them, the price I paid would now buy a cheaper Dell. How does the DGM compare to the cheaper Dells? Thanks for any info anyone can give.

Not sure, but judging by this:
Any service replacement ... will meet manufacturing electronic specification, ... as the faulty it is replacing.
I'd assume they're bound to give you a VA panel since only those can match the 'manufacturing electronic specification' ie. 180/180 degree viewing angle etc?

Hope so! Mine got collected today by DPD, first issues started where the monitor would show a distorted image after coming out of standby, then it gradually got worse to the extent it was powering on and off with a click noise every few seconds while not displaying any image :(

I don't think you are going to have much luck, unfortunately. I have rung DGM again today and am getting the same story that I got back in December. I have spoken to trading standards. They have recommended a letter giving DGM 14 days to complete the repair, then to contact trading standards again. The contract is with Overclockers so if I want a refund it will have to be from them.

I haven't read the whole thread (now at 166 pages!) but haven't some people found they have a TN panel even though they bought this monitor with those specs? But it's a good argument to use to DGM if they try and fob me off with a TN or something else. I want a VA panel or a refund!

Edit: actually I'm not even sure a want a replacement VA panel now, it probably won't last very long before problems arise, and my guarantee will only last as long as my original guarantee.

Thread is way to big to read (currently 4953 posts on 62 pages), but has anyone sent theirs back to Digimate directly? What was your experience?

My Ocuk receipt doesn't have any serial number printed on it, so does this make the warranty with Digimate void?

Yes, mine was sent to Digimate, not OcUK. Experience - still waiting (sent in 15th December) see my post no 4947.

The serial number and pin number are on the back of the monitor below the barcode. The pin number may be hidden and need scratching off. The model number is OcUK Value L2442W. See post 4819 for phone no. You can photograph the invoice and send them the jpg - they will accept that. When you ring them they will give you the email address and a reference number, then you send them an email with the details and jpg attachment.

I had a hell of time getting mine repaired by DGM as some may know, I sent it back about 5-6 times before it was finally sorted. The first thing I did was sell it.

OcUK also flat out said no to helping me out, in some poorly written reply, I was at my wits end but they finall repaired it. So I wouldn't hold up much hope with OcUK helping. Just hope its an easy problem for them to see and fix.

I'd strongly suggest going for another make.

Out of interest what are you using atm?

Edit: My 2000th post! :D lol
