BARGAIN - OcUK 24" with DVI (*VA Panel) for £179.99+VAT (This Week Only Deal!!)

Well, its fairly obvious that more peopel would fork out if the unit was put back to the weekend price - so its upto OCUK

It would be funny if they made it lwoer than the weekend price - wonde rif those buyers would moan - afterall they did take a risk on price :p

:D
HEY, I aint the one moaning, its not his or your GodGiven right to get it at the cheaper price days after deals over.

What it to me or OCUK if its DVD's or Perfume for your wife, nothing is free.

I want reviews also and stated I am willing to pay £30 more missing the deal and not being a Guineepig.

Some of you here would moan if it was FREE.

mate... your not worth it. Get daddy to put it on his credit card :D

£30 is nothing.

Your tones would possibly be different if it hadn't turned out to be as wonderful as it is.

It was an unknown quantity with the spec being updated throughout the day... I will not spend on my money on something which didn't have a confirmed spec.

I just think it's reasonable to allow us to purchase at the same price, now that we know where we stand - what exactly is unreasonable about that?

If this had been a 'this week only' then most people wouldn't have given it a second look and just thought it was some generic brand junk. The fact we had little information about it and it had no reputation at all (unlike all the products we recommend each other on this forum) made it a big risk, had it turned out to be rubbish then none of these complaints would exist, it would be 'glad I waited for the review'.

I have the same problem :(, although its only one so not really noticeable :)

Yeah I found ONE stuck pixel under closer inspection of the screen, it's stuck on red, I could probably try and fix it but I can't be bothered as it's virtually invisible, basically you wouldn't find it unless you were looking for it, it's not like it catches your attention.

Not really. As many of us stated, distance selling act. If you don't like it, you send it right back :)

For you guys with stuck pixels...

I had a 17" Viewsonic TFT a few years ago that had a bright red pixel stuck almost centre of the screen. Because i bought it from the shop instead of online i had no comeback so i tried massaging the pixel directly but that didnt work then by accident i fixed it by massaging a different area of the screen!

I massaged the screen about 3" away from the dead pixel and it cured it, infact it's still going strong today :)

ocuk did the offer to get reviews. yes its a bit of a blow to everyone but they are a buisness. it is crap that a company did sell something without knowing specs tho. i have mixed views. think the thread needs updating tho, it was changed from 199 to 192 fast enough so why not change it from 192 to 221. That annoys me completly. only thing imo they done wrong.

A lot of OcUK's competitors do this quite often, OcUK is unique because it has such an active forum where we can ask people about OcUK's products before we buy them so we can query things. Gibbo actually had more information in the OP than you find on a lot of online stores, what other stores do you know where you can ask about the type of LCD (PVA, TN etc.) inside a display?

Ok, I can confirm gaming is awesome at 1680x1050.

I have 1 stuck pixel, its in an ok place though, very far right hand side.

Hopefully it will go.

All round im very please and theres no way im sending it back.

Try pressing the area where the PIXEL is gently but firmly with your knuckle with Screen powered off, then power it up and slowly remove your knuckle (may have to repeat).

Also try this:

http://udpix.free.fr/

Thanks for that, tried giving it a press on powering on, no change, I have that prog running on it now, had to close vista sidebar to do it as its in the middle of that.

Its only really noticable on black, white and it doesnt show up.

Its quite annoying really, hoping i dont notice it during films.

Gibbo, what are the chances of this monitor going back down to the original price any time soon? Im not being cheaky, just wondering, as if there is no chance i can move on with my life and forget about it lol!

What about if you used the monitor using DVI with the 360 and VGA for PC, would it still be as good?

I made this video to demonstrate how the monitor handles signals from two inputs at the same time and of differing resolutions.

You'll see the resolution of the PC connected using DVI-D at the start of the video then I turn on the Xbox 360 and press the input selection button on the monitor. You will then see the Xbox 360 on the screen and the video settings page with the resolution displayed. Finally I switch off the Xbox 360 to demonstrate the auto-switching feature.

The video was recorded on a Sony PSP using a GoCam!

Well this thread was going so well until all the fighting, it's probably why I very rarely use message boards. I don't think anyone should be moaning about what OCUK did or the price or the screen. OCUK took a big enough risk buying a large amount of stock of a screen that may not really be that good so they could offer it at great value to it's customers. As it happens the screen is really great quality and is probably going to be a great success for them.

As it's been said before with any sale you have to be quick and you have to be aware of it .. if you miss it you miss it and you wait till it goes down again or bite the bullet and pay the normal price for it. This is still a great value monitor even at the normal price there's really very little to fault and the image quality is top notch, the weekend buyers took the risk and saved some money but if it really was rubbish we'd be the ones moaning right now probably, it's a gamble at the end of the day. However Gibbo did his best to tell everyone how good the screen was and that the panel was a really great one so it was an informed decision and we have to thank OCUk for that.

Only thing I'm miffed about is I intended on getting it at the weekend but I had to wait for an RMA from OcUK to make sure I could get a refund to afford it. Rang on Monday RMA good but price must have just went back up :( Damn my laziness should have woke up an hour earlier. Gona have to have a budget makeover I'm thinking.
