BARGAIN - OcUK 24" with DVI (*VA Panel) for £179.99+VAT (This Week Only Deal!!)

UPDATE

Fixed the stuck pixel!:D

My panel is now grade 1 flawless.:) I placed a piece of polythene over the screen to protect it and pressed on the dead pixel with the point of a biro and its gone.

Time for a celebratory lunchtime pint.

Mine just arrived, cant seem to get it working with DVI though, just getting the blue light blinking and 'disconnected' box on the screen before it goes back to black.

Works fine on VGA, considerable blur in faster games like Quake, but not noticed on other games yet.

Its on-site if you register with digimate, although they don't currently have this monitor as an option for registering which is **** so can't register and its supposed to be registered within 2 weeks :(. Anyone else found this or just me? I have emailed digimate but not got a reply yet, anychance of getting them to sort this out Gibbo?
Gibbo any chance of contacting digimate over signing up for their warranty as quite a few of us are having problems registering with digimate.

Thanks

Not tried DVI yet, will I be ok to uplug the VGA, and plug in the DVI while my PC and monitor is powered up just to test the DVI connection?

I've sent 2 webnotes regarding warranty registration over a week ago and have no replies, how did you manage to get a response?

Im amazed some of you struggle to see the text at 1920x1200, for me its bigger and clearer then my CRT 19" running 1600x1200 and I have this 24" pushed much further back as it so much slimmer.

Try playing with the DPI settings in XP/Vista, you can keep the 1920 x 1200 but it will be a little easier on your eyes.

How do you do this? Ive never seen a Dots Per square Inch setting.

Go into your browser and manually change the font size to suite your taste.

I use IE7 and this does not work. Its like the size of text is hard coded, using this forum as an example.

Or press CTRL and mouse wheel up or down to alter the text size on the screen.

When I do this, EVERYTHING gets bigger, which is fine, however, the setting doesnt stick and after opening up a new window, I am back to normal size. I might have to get used to simply increasing the magnification whenever I open up a new IE window. Its kind of tedious though.

You used to run your 19" CRT @ 1600x1200. That is why. You are used to seeing small text. On my 19" CRT, I run 1024x768. It allows me to place my eyes 30cm from the screen (hunched forward) and as far back as 1m from the screen (laid back in the chair). At 1600x1200, there is no way I could read everything without any effort from 1m away.

It all depends what you are used to, I guess.

Display settings > Settings > Advanced > General tab.

aaaaah. I think this is going to work. I am using my other PC right now, but when I fire up the other PC, I shall be sure to try this. I have a strong feeling that this is going to work.

Its bizarre that that page is the first page that comes on advanced display properties - something that I have veiwed at least 1000 times before - yet, I never noticed that setting.
