BARGAIN - OcUK 24" with DVI (*VA Panel) for £179.99+VAT (This Week Only Deal!!)

The resolution looks fairly high but I don't really play games, would my 6800GT cope ok with the 1920x1200 resolution? I have Windows XP if that presents any further problems.. as can't see anything above 1600x1200 in my properties box.
It'll be fine for general Windows use. The reason you can't see above 1600x1200 at the moment is that your current monitor won't support it.

Whats this monitor like at playing games at lower rez's?

My PC isnt a complete BEAST but will it play at 1440 x 900 or sometimes 1680x1050 ok? Wont look blurry or anything?

Also this price is pretty good aswell?

Heard nothing but good from this monitor... If you say it can look nice at lower rez's then thats OCuK with more of my money!!

....

Also whilst im here, I know this is the monitor section but if I do go for this screen do you think the new GTS or GTX would be better? (still planning on playing at lower resolutions)

THANKS!

Playing Crysis at 1680x1050 and it's fine :)

Price is very good for a VA panel.

They are both good cards but if your going to bump the res up and also AA then I'd still go for the GTX (especially with the prices dropping) as long as it will fit in your case (275mm long) and your PSU is up to it.

Why would you want a 24" plus a GTS/GTX and then play at lower res

Becuase if the monitor scales alright, then should turning on all the eye candy hit the FSP a little i know personally i'd rather turn the res down (within reason) to keep things like AA on :)

i suspect thats his reasoning!

Picked one of these up on Saturday from Stoke.

Absolutely stunning, no dead pixels and the image is amazing. Even the missus was impressed, though that was probably because she got my Philips 200W. :)

I'm sure I read somewhere that if you were running at higher resolutions, AA was less necessary anyway...

Alllec was right, I do prefer having a lower rez and being able to put on more eye candy.

I think ill go for the GTS, as I dont think my case will fit and if it does its going to be a fanny on moving everything about, cba tbh :p.

As the GTS is exactally the same size as the one ive got now then its just going to be a straight swap, EASY!

CHEERS GUYS! NEW GTS AND 24" OcUK MONITOR WILL BE ORDERED SOON!

Hmm,

I think im sold. Its gonna be a long shot but im gonna order it as early as i possibly can on Thursday the 20th and pray to god it arrives Friday :)

Hi there

It could use any panel and could therefor be the same as the model we sell or different.

When I spoke to DGM they said they do use upto 3 different panels and other similar models could use a different panel again.

Thats why OcUK took all the DGM stock they had as they guaranteed us they were all of the same batch with same panel, hence why we have plenty in stock as we did not want to risk getting none VA panels or an inferior one so were now stocked up heavily on these so we can ensure that OcUK customers get a good quality panel. :)

I didn't have any plans to purchase a new monitor but seeing this deal I'm so tempted!! I get paid on the 21st though, would the £229 deal run out by then? :(
