BARGAIN - OcUK 24" with DVI (*VA Panel) for £179.99+VAT (This Week Only Deal!!)

I'll keep my fingers X for you Dave but remember you have the 7 day safety net where you can send it back if there is a fault, in fact you don't even need to have a fault or give a reason under the 7 day distant selling act. Merry Christmas to all you guys with your new monitors, have fun over the holls. :)

I have a dead pixel on the 15" we use for a telly sometimes, its green and about a third of the way in and up. Honestly it's unnoticable half the time unless I look for it.
But my first TFT had six :( right in the middle. Made me very nervous afterwards about upgrading, normally go second hand to be sure of none.

wow its so cool

how can i check if it has any dead pixels?

cant seem to see any by making the whole page black in Paint, but it doesnt cover the whole screen

Oh well I've gone and ordered one now, think my 11 year old Iiyama VisionMaster Pro 17" is finally on its way out. This will be my first TFT, fingers crossed it's a good one, is there a praying smilie lol.

My monitor didnt have any dead/stuck pixels and many have reported the same experience. Its a decent monitor, though I feel LCD tech hasnt yet caught up with CRT. To be fair CRT is decades old and has had plenty of time to mature.

If I was looking for a good value for money monitor, this monitor would be it. If I were going for the ultimate in image quality for movies/pictures/internet (and anything you car to mention) I would look to a CRT, though getting a 24" Trinitron CRT isnt easy to come by these days.

With regards to credit cards: if you are disciplined, they will help you build up a good credit score, should you ever need to use it in the future and will help you save money through 0% balance transfers, 0% credit card purchases, etc. Any 18yr old who feels they are capable of clearing the balance of the cc every month should definitely get one. I would not advise getting a cc, just to get this monitor, as it wont arrive in time, before the offer ends. ;)

i got mine this morning. unfortunately i got a nasty black line running horizontally across the screen from left to right. :( i made a demonstration in photoshop, the actual line is slightly thinner.

it shows up as black line most of the time. i tested it with pixel buddy and it actually shows as a green line on the white background, and a very faint dark grey line on a black background. other than that its black most of the time. i went to the bios menu at bootup just to test its not a windows problem and it`s still there. any ideas? is it dead pixels? should i contact overclockers about a replacement?

(just as a side note, the monitor/colours/everthing is amazing, i think i just got unlucky with this one)

Also received mine this morning.

Had a couple of issues put pleased over all. The first is that the tape at the top right corner that held the plastic on to the screen was actually embedded in the join between the surround and the side. I've managed to get a lot of it out but I doubt I'll get the rest and I don't want to damage the surround.

The second is that I think my old GForce 6600 is struggling to output through DVI. I had always stuck to VGA with my previous Hitachi TFT. Through DVI I'm getting large refresh lines rolling down the screen during video or even just browsing the forums. I also had problems with the Nvidia drivers but I've had that in the past. No dead pixels though :)

I'm on VGA at the moment and it looks excellent to my eyes. Would a newer graphics card enable me to use DVI?
