Batman Arkham Knight - Official Thread!

I never play these types of game with mouse and keyboard on PC, so maybe that's why i find a rock solid 30fps smooth and acceptable to play.

I've played tons of games at 60fps and had dips to 50fps and it felt awful, but this kind of 30fps in Batman seems very smooth to me. It's the same smooth 30fps i tolerate in the Dark Souls series too. I use a control most of the time so maybe that's why i don't mind it.

This game is a pig to run. I mean, my PC can run GTA V at 1080p pretty much maxed including max tesselation but running this all on low at 1080p produces a worse frame rate?

How does this even run on consoles then?

Mines stuck on 33.7/33.8gb - 'busy writing to disk'. All seemed fine this morning with nothing else to dl.

I had this and ended up having to delete the local content and download it again. Mind you after playing it I wish I hadn't bothered.

Probably a contender for the worst port of all time!.

Ok, so to the stuck on download issue post pre-load, I left mine running and it did finish and launched.

I then had crashes both during the intro and on the pc bench. Only played for a short time but using the fps uncap (set to 60), windowed borderless, no nv gameworks settings and the rest enabled/max bar shadows on normal it seems to run 'ok' with vsync and on a controller. The batmobile scenes seem to kill performance though - down to as low as 30fps and so far always sub 50fps I think at 1080p.

Just to add, given what it looks like and on some comparable recent titles I'd probably expect around 10% more fps at all times and less of the big drops in fps. You can always expect hits in performance but they seem huge here. Ignoring the crashes that can seemingly be avoided with settings being adjusted (shouldn't have to), I wouldn't label it a disaster as some people/sites are, although it's disappointing.

ugh this sounds like it will be a nightmare to run on 3440x1440 might hold off until they fix performance or at least get crossfire working.

How on earth do games pass QC and testing? When you buy something you should expect it to work, minor problems cannot be avoided sometimes I get that, but what is it with major game releases that seem to suck so bad these days? This is a reason I have not pre-ordered a game in a long time because you can almost guarantee day 1 patches. The day 1 patches should never be needed if the adaquate testing was done properly, the games get shipped out in virtually a broken state!

I played last night until 4am, didn't notice the 30fps cap (I didn't have fps showing in AB, only temperature (65'c) and vram usage (4GB+))

It didn't crash once, one of the cut scenes near the start did stutter a little bit but I can't say I noticed anything untoward. I honestly don't get how so many people have issues yet I have very few?

i5 2500k @4.2ghz, 8gb ram, game on a Samsung SSD and a GTX780 6GB not overclocked above factory clocks.

Who knows. I never have any issues with any of my games (apart from the odd crash in Witcher 3). I played AK last night for 4 hours without any crashes or issues. Ran perfectly smooth. I'm thinking that they mess around with their computers too much, trying to clock everything to death and bugs creep in.

It deserves worse.

My rig isnt the best, GTX 660 with a 3570k processor but it can run every other game on high inc GTA etc but this is just horrible...the car scenes it just bottoms out.

Ill pass.

I havent clocked a thing mate. Runs like poop

It seems to be very CPU intensive whatever the reason. My CPU usage is all over the place with it some times spiking to 94% usage. No other game I have played has used this much and that's with a i7 3770k overclocked to 4.5ghz.
