Batman Arkham Knight - Official Thread!

Disappointed with this release because of the issues but it's not entirely unexpected. Previous Batman games had problems at release also.

I've really enjoyed the series so far and I will wait patiently in the hope that this will be fixed so I can at least have a decent experience with it.

You need:

6-8GB Ram or higher
3GB VRam or higher

Anything else will eventually crash the game its a massive system hog because the entire massive city(s) are loaded into memory as you play then streamed in as you reach differnet areas.

Its a shame people are having issues as the game is magnificent easily the best SP game on PC this year by far gfx as well for UE3 are very nice but the overall atmosphere is strong & the surprises from the previous games are just ;)

I am amazed just how smooth it is for me on a single GTX970 @ 3840x2160 getting minor slowdowns where it dips below 30 but overall its very playable as no AA is required.

CBA to take screenshots for now but most of the hero textures look excellent in 4k when/if WB release proper 4k textures & the other graphical enhancements are fixed this game is going to look even better.

... and the best part is it'll only cost me ~£5 by then in a steam sale for a version with all the siphoned-off DLC content included :p

its a shame that so many people are having problems with this game the videos that I have watched it looks brilliant. I have the game but haven't downloaded it yet but have just started the series from the start. hopefully in a couple of months everyones saying best game ever

The new drivers combined with turning off the nvidia gameworks stuff have finally given me completely stutter free gameplay. Its bloody annoying that I have to completely exit the game if I alt tab though due to the amount of flicker otherwise.

353.30 have seemingly stopped the crashing for me. The performance seems a little better overall also - I wouldn't say far better though. The drivers haven't stopped the fps drops though, although it seems more bearable. Given the graphics in the game I'd probably say it's acceptable, but nothing more. I'm still presented with a game has stopped responding message upon exiting even though the game appears to exit as normal.

Only played about 3 hours or so, but have to say I haven't really had any issues apart from a bit of clipping and some camera weirdness (but no more than in the previous games). Running 1080p with all the gameworks options on. Was running SLi with my 4GB GTX670s but am now running with one card and the other dedicated to Physx as it seems to run better. Have not had any crashes at all. Not much sign of stuttering either - maybe running from SSD is preventing that. Haven't fiddled around with ini file so I assume I'm still running 30FPS, but to be honest it's not affecting my experience at all.

That's the only issue I've had to be honest but as I'm closing the game anyway I'm not sure it counts as a crash!?

I kind of fixed my game by changing "AllowRadialBlur" and "MotionBlurPause" to false, and allowing 60 fps. I played for about 3 hours with 0 dips in frames, even when getting the lagmobile. i7 920, 980, 12gb, ssd, win8.1.

Edit: to reply to above: game still crashes on exit though.

2nd edit: just found this: 27th June update

67MB update available for this, got it downloading now via Steam.

The game has been a lot more playable for me since getting the 353.38 Hotfix driver from Nvidia, quite enjoying the game to be fair!

Why are people using those drivers and not the latest?

353.38

The 353.30 drivers are known for Crashes and TDR's

Didn't realise. Guru 3d have literally tonight seemingly replaced 353.30 with 353.38...

*Edit - 353.30 are indeed awful, crashes within firefox and 3dmark11 wouldn't fully bench (firestrike and valley did though). 353.38 seems to have sorted it and gained a small bit on 3d mark 11.
