Batman Arkham Knight - Official Thread!

looks like ill be getting this on ps4 then for the better graphical and gameplay experience lol :D Never thought I would say those words.

Would love to know who actually used the word "port" first, only to then see it used so widely in the industry.

I would as well, because it's given most people the impression that the console versions of games are completed, then the completed console version is shoved on to the PC.

Then people moan about consoles being the reason for some PC games being crappy.

Mostly fine here.

Slight stutter every now and then, and crashed once, but I am sure I have experienced far worse.

Frame rate even ok with everything maxed and fps capped to 60. Not brilliant as it does drop into 40's, but that is maxed at 4k.

Runs amazing on Windows 10 using a 980 ti, was horrible on Windows 8.1

Any elaboration on 'amazing'???

Does it suddenly maintain a solid 60fps without tweaking INI files to unlock anything over 30? Have the missing textures mysteriously returned and do we have more controls for customising graphics and mouse controls/fov???

I highly doubt 'amazing' is the appropriate word here.

Edited .ini file for it to run at 60fps and it maintains that to an acceptable level, rather than before on 8.1 where it dipped frequently and to me was virtually unplayable.

Cannot comment on missing textures - I've not studied it to that extent I'm just enjoying playing it now - although to me looks better than the PS4 version I've been playing all morning.

Same customisation controls.

Happy now? Is there anything else you would like to know?

YEs please, does it still have huge frame drops when calling/using the Batmobile? Are you running on an SSD? What are your specs in general?

Honestly, I don't believe it looks better than the PS4 version, it's missing the ambient occlusion among other things the PS4 version has.

No frame drops at all that I've noticed. Yes running from SSD.

IMO it looks better than PS4 version although could be down to personal taste.

Funnily enough the first two nvidia game works options are greyed out and cannot be enabled.

Bat mobile drops? No.
SSD? Yes. Samsung 830 250Gb that's also my boot drive.
Core i5 2500k @4.2ghz, 8gb DDR3, GTX780 6gb driving a 2560x1080 LG Ultrawide monitor which the game supports natively other than cutscenes which is pretty much par for the course.

Did I read earlier in this thread that you're running at 30fps?

The hate is way overblown this game still looks magnificent to me probably the best looking UE3 engined game to date. :D

I only have a single GTX970 but @ 4K is perfectly playable when you disable all Nvidia Gameworks features & have everything else maxxed out (disable AO on the desktop though that conflicts with the ingame AO scheme just like it did in Aliens Colonial Marines).

Gfx look very pretty the textures especially (make sure you do not disable the 30FPS limit as that prevents some textures from streaming in properly on a HDD) but the lighting FX on reflections look fantastic this game has a terrific atmosphere its an insane OTT reaction for WB to remove from sale just because its missing a few settings which can & will be put back in sooner or later

Gameplay wise this takes everything positive from Asylum & City then makes the scale so much larger & the batmobile as a co-op partner really adds a unique dimension to the gameplay you can do so much cool stuff with both working in combo with each other ;)

I tend to agree. The missing graphical features is a let down and 30fps isn't great, though it seems to play quite smooth at that compared to some other games. Massive exaggeration over the internet with how bad this is. I thought the same with AC Unity which was perfectly playable as well and I only encountered 1 or 2 small bugs. I would happily play AK at 30fps but i'm waiting to see if they implement the graphics features as i'm a graphics whore :D

Just because it runs ok for some doesn't mean everyone else is exaggerating. I was getting constant crashes, even when just changing the settings, dire performance, eating ALL of my RAM... it's unplayable for me and that is no exaggeration.

Agreed, it's easy to say the hate is overblown when you are not really being affected by the issues.
I played for 30 mins then gave up, I don't want to ruin the experience of trying to play it in this state.

Found this bug whilst trying to record my footage for the playthrough I'm "attempting " on this game. It's easily the buggiest game I've tried to play, including watchdogs in that list. Alt+tabbing out of the game if you have SLI and use shadowplay (disabling shadowplay first) breaks the game by introducing a flicker to it which you can't fix unless you completely exit the program.

SLI + Nvidia enhanced rain + shadowplay and alt tabbing produces this insane effect which I've linked to the rain effect itself. If you disable the rain, you just see the flicker which isn't that bad, but annoying non the less.
