Batman™: Arkham Knight Performance

I'm enjoying this game. I've had one crash but bar that frames at a steady 60 once I did the hack. It also seems to of had an update tonight and the crash was before this so I don't know if that has any relevance.

Ran the new amd 15 beta drivers and it's now running lovely on my 290x. Very happy now

+1 On this. I done the same from 15.5 to 15.6. No problems at all with it so far! Getting 60 fps solid. I have noticed that some people said that the PC version is having trouble picking up the 360 pad. It was fine for me, then another mate of mine said he had the same problem not picking up the 360. He checked all drivers/updated drivers etc

From watching a vid of the ingame benchmark it might as well be a game works benchmark. Guys walking along with paper being kicked along, then goes to smoke coming out of a machine, then to batmans cape flapping around, then to the batmobile kicking up smoke that looks pretty unrealistic to say the least. Almost looks like you could walk upto it and cut a piece out with a knife. =|

its a bad port so far . wait for patch ( look like this is become normal things for Devs to released bad port bad optimize and fix it later )

Why is it that most if not all Nvidia backed Games run like crap on PC?

That's because the end user has become the beta tester allowing them to cut overall costs and time spent. It's becoming a common practise which wouldn't be so bad if they owned up to it and offered some sort of recompense.

Just saw the firestorm over the launch of this game, having gone on holiday.

Another GameWorks title, another total joke. When will people learn ....

Nice to see they threw in additional DRM, farmed the PC version out to a no-name third party and locked FPS to 30, then 'unlocked' it to 60. Neither SLI nor CF work. Bugs and performance issues everywhere.

What a total ****-show.

GameWorks is crippleware. Nothing more, nothing less. It's designed to castrate performance on both NVIDIA (to drive adoption of new cards), and (more so) on AMD. Aside from that, it's mostly repackaging existing DX features into another poorly optimised middleware layer, adding a load more overhead.

Then there's the fact that these are all console ports (including even Witcher 3) and the games have been designed with AMD's GCN architecture in mind. Adding NVIDIA crippleware to the mix isn't likely to go down very well with much of the game's code.

Plus, if a dev. is shady enough to enter this Faustian pact with NVIDIA, the likelihood of them releasing the game in a total state is very high, IMO.

Dear Batman: Arkham Knight PC owners,

We are aware that there are performance issues for some users playing Batman: Arkham Knight on PC. WB Games is working diligently with our development teams, NVIDIA and AMD, to identify and fix the issues as quickly as possible.

Please know that we value input from those who are playing the game and we are continuously monitoring all threads posted in the Official Batman: Arkham Knight Community and Steam forums, as well as any issues logged with our Customer Support. If you are experiencing any issues with the game, please be sure to report it to support.wbgames.com.

In the meantime, we wanted to provide recommended, in-game graphical settings for those with minimum and recommend specs hardware. We will provide recommended settings for the Ultra specs as soon as we are able to conduct more tests. At the bottom of this post, you can find additional information that may help alleviate some of the most frequent issues that some players are experiencing. Also, for reference, we have included a list of the minimum, recommended, and ultra hardware requirements.

If you purchased your copy of the game through Steam and are not satisfied with your experience, you can request a refund at help.steampowered.com (Steam refund policies can be found here: http://store.steampowered.com/steam_refunds).

Thank you for your patience as we work on resolving these issues and please be sure to check back for updates.

Minimum Hardware Specs

(or equivalent)

Resolution: 1280x720
V-Sync: Off
Anti-Aliasing: Off
Texture Resolution: Low
Shadow Quality: Low
Level of Detail: Low
Interactive Smoke/Fog: Off
Interactive Paper Debris: Off
Enhanced Rain: Off
Enhanced Light Shafts: Off

Expected: 30fps (capped)

It is incredibly important that users with a min spec video card with 2 GB of dedicated VRAM (or 3 GB on AMD) to keep the Texture Resolution set to Low. Increasing this to Normal will cause significant performance issues.
By default, the game may set the user’s monitor to the maximum output offered. Users should reset to 720p on min spec hardware.
With these settings on Min Spec AMD GPU’s, users can expect some minor texture pops, occasional loading symbols during fast-paced scenarios, and some hitches & stuttering when gliding or driving the Batmobile.

Recommended Hardware Specs

(or equivalent)

Resolution: 1920x1080
V-Sync: On
Anti-Aliasing: On
Texture Resolution: Normal
Shadow Quality: Normal
Level of Detail: Normal
Interactive Smoke/Fog: Off
Interactive Paper Debris: Off
Enhanced Rain: Off
Enhanced Light Shafts: Off

Expected: 30fps (capped)

The Recommended Spec is intended to deliver an experience on par with the current generation of gaming platforms.

For an optimal experience, users with recommended spec hardware should not set their resolution higher than 1080p.

By default, the game may set Shadow Quality and Level of Detail to High on Recommended Spec hardware. Users should revert these to Normal.

With these settings on Rec Spec AMD GPUs, users can expect some minor texture pops, occasional loading symbols during fast-paced scenarios, and some hitches & stuttering when gliding or driving the Batmobile. To help alleviate this, AMD users using Rec Spec GPU’s should turn Texture Resolution, Shadow Quality, and Level of Detail to Low. We continue to work closely with AMD to resolve these issues as soon as possible; make sure you have the most current drivers and check back here for updates on when the next driver version is available.

Additional Recommendations

We do not recommend that users change anything in the game’s .ini files as this will potentially negatively impact performance, including frame rate, and stability.

At this time we do not recommend using NVIDIA’s GeForce Experience or AMD’s Gaming Evolved Optimization tools.

We’re currently working on improving streaming performance from mechanical hard drives (HDD). Addressing this is one of our top short-term priorities.

For users that have an SSD available, we’ve noted increased streaming performance when the game is installed to that type of drive.

Once again, we’d like to stress the importance of having the latest drivers from your graphics card manufacturer. Staying up to date could potentially alleviate many performance issues, and will improve your game experience.

- NVIDIA GeForce users should use GeForce GameReady WHQL Driver version 353.30

- AMD users should use Catalyst 15.6 beta driver

Crossfire on AMD is currently not supported. This is to be addressed in a future driver update from AMD.

Eyefinity (multi-monitor) on AMD is currently not fully supported. This is to be addressed in a future driver update from AMD.

When running Nvidia SLI, using the NVIDIA Control Panel to set one card as a dedicated PhysX card may improve performance.

Players should not disable and/or edit the size of their page file. Windows manages this automatically, and leaving this at the default settings will provide an optimal experience when playing Arkham Knight. We strongly recommend that users avoid making edits to this.

Game System Requirements

Minimum Hardware Specs:

OS: Win 7 SP1, Win 8.1 (64-bit Operating System Required)

Hi, if your understanding of an SDK you've never seen is as limited as your one of a PCB and vregs you've never seen then I kneel before your superior misinformation.

Let's blame gameworks, even though the game runs just as bad when it's disabled and still has the same flaws, but still, let's not stand in the way of aimless finger pointing. That's not to say nvidia are blameless, they must have sampled the RC of the game prior to release and their 'game ready driver' is anything but.

The developer(s) and publisher should be held accountable, not a technical partner. It's times like this I think the games industry needs heavy regulations, I'm sure fining publishers that churn **** out like this would go some way to preventing it.

I also think we need to petition to have the rocksteady splash removed from the PC version of the game, they could replace it with something like "12 ***** and a keyboard"

I'm rather enjoying the game at 1440p still :) I did, however, just get an odd crash.

Ds_MGdBR5xIzdlowv6Uyb8JPIRWCBNlHimm4OfWgJNQQ=w1179-h2038-no

Other than that been playing for a few hours straight at a time. I have the fps unlocked through the INI and also turned off bloom. No vysnc.

I have noticed a couple instances of terribad texture streaming lol. Game is definitely not what it should be, but I'm curious as to how it's running THAT bad for some people (both sides).
