Batman™: Arkham Knight Performance

This game is all over the place visually. Some parts look last gen and then some parts look really nice. If only they had high res textures it would go a long way towards being quite pretty

Aren't you the guy with the Phillips VA 4k? How the hell do you put up with playing at 1440p, it looks terrible on it

Not with these ini settings it doesn't :D

Seriously, it looks great with AA and AF etc.. jacked up at 1440p. It scales well. Anything less than that looks like a blur though. This game actually runs very smooth at 4k, but the memory leak pumps me over vram limit pretty quickly. :(

Well the intro sequence was OK, solid 50fps (I set 60 but OK game..) then when I got to glide it was frame drops out the rear end.. 60 to 11, to 4 etc :/ 1080p atm.

I've been away at Glastonbury, so have missed a lot of the developments since the game launched.

Is there a problem with V-RAM? If so does having a Titan X actually make this more playable than most GPU's?

On page 1 you will see my initial benchmark which seemed perfectly playable for 4k resolutions.

I think that was with one of my Titan X's set as dedicated PhysX so that takes the burden away

I'm just wondering whether to bother playing it now or wait for weeks/months for them to sort it?

Because the VRAM is borked, gamewise,my TX is a big benefit. They say it will be patched to use less but for the time being its a big help.

Well I've been playing it for 3 hours at 4k with the 30fps limit off.

No crashes...no issues at all really. I doubt it was running at 60fps (Didn't have afterburner on) but I didn't notice any major framerate drops or texture pop-in.

Are Barclays responsible if I watch a Premier League football game that sends me to sleep ?

I am sure if the standard in the Premier League dropped and the games did send you to sleep Barclays would find something else to back.

NVidia are very different with TWIMTBP, they are using it to tell people they are getting a top quality product. Unfortunately this has not been the case lately and TWIMTBP has become a total joke.

NVidia need to take a long hard look at TWIMTBP as this is generating a lot of negative publicity for them.

I think the answer you were looking for was 'No'.

I really dont know whats changed in your attitude over the past while, but your posts have went from really good to read, pretty interesting and helpful to having a bit of fanboy venom in them.

One of the things Nvidia do with developers is... "We examine the game engine and the developers and publishers objectives and suggest features that will look good and which will be fun, these are suggestions only, they are usually accepted where they make sense and are cost effective"

Note the bit I underlined. Nvidia dont tell a developer how to code a game, frankly that would be a little insulting, plus its not Nvidia's game.

Nvidia quite literally provided hundreds of programmer hours to developers, they do this for FREE. To say this is Nvidia's responsibility is pretty much backward and should be praised for the man hours they provide to developers. It's way to easy to point the finger and blame, but your finger is directed in the wrong direction.

Spurs fan?...that's lowered the tone of an otherwise interesting thread:D;)

lol

You do realise that I am typing this using a PC with 4 TitanXs in it.:D

The bottom line is NVidia have allowed, supported with money and endorsed the game devs to produce something that is total garbage. What is more even though I use NVidias hardware I am still prepared to say if something is not right.

TWIMTBP when you see this you know you are buying rubbish, NVidia need to get themselves sorted out quick with this.

If I owned Nvidia and spent money on sponsoring games both financially and with engineers and I got this as a result, I’d be furious. Nvidia have now had a few recent titles that have embarrassed them, they pay to tag along with the hype of the game and tell all potential video card customers, looks you too can get this great game with all those snazzy effects, just buy a Nvidia card.

The whole point of sponsoring titles is being reversed, people are being put off the Nvidia brand. Their CEO must be fuming. They either need to be more selective now on future titles or insist on compensation clauses.

It might not be their fault, but they have to do something about protecting their brand.

Whilst I do think theres a bit venom aimed at Nvidia there and I do admit Im a bit of a fanboy myself, this whole thing stinks. They do provide help and dont code the game as pointed out but the allegations that the demo video they used to show off physx and gameworks was sped up to disguise the fact it was running at sub 60fps points to Nvidia being very much aware this was a problem long before we knew about it.

Shame really as I love the little things GW and physx bring and they are the reason I buy Nvidia

I agree I can`t remember the last good TWIMTBP game?
