Nvidia link is sparse, AMD one, I'm still laughing.:D

They are both capable of making sure they have solid high scaling profiles for synthetic BM's, because that sells gpu's.

For the investment, support is lousy and why after 5 different gens of running both vendors mgpu, I've had enough, the reward for the investment/time is simply not 'good enough'.

It is only going to get worse with DX12 where the devs will have to take more responsibility for multi GPU gaming or the lack of it more likely.

Agree with that, for say, 80% of the time (this applies to both camps) it's fine, but you have to work hard for that other 20% to work as you want it, be that the fault of the vendor, developer or a combination of both. Usually the games you want to play the most are those that fall in that 20%.

Its all well and good for us more experienced users that don't mind mucking about in nvinspector, Radeon pro, etc... To tweak things, but a novice user shouldn't have to face these obstacles.

Like yourself and Greg, I'm now a very happy single gpu owner after many years of mgpu.

Nvidia sponsored this game, it should have SLI, no excuses.

Spot on.

I am using as a fact that Gibbo claimed a large percentage of the monitors he sells now are higher than 1080p.

Problem is, more gamers use TV's to game on and don't buy from shops like OCUK.

Would love to know % wise the amount who game 1080 and above - I wager very few

I've had enough, the reward for the investment/time is simply not 'good enough'.

100% agreed. :)

Took me a while to get there, but it'll be a long while b4 going sli/xfire again :(

Kaap, Dicehunter and greg's thoughts imo are all 'correct' per se, but Dice's words are more the reality.

Don't get me wrong it would be great if we had all this support but if you look at it from a business POV then supporting that less than 1% who run MGPU so they can run at high res doesn't make sense as it means more development time, Bug testing etc etc which all costs the companies moolah.

I believe Dicehunter has said many times in this thread that they don't matter !!!

This is what the whole debate has been about for the last page or two.

Twisting my words for the 3rd time now dude, No need for it.

I said devs prioritize and seeing as most people are running full HD or below their priorities lie elsewhere i.e not MGPU etc...

Problem is with sli\crossfire some games on certain resolutions pretty much need it if you're the type of person who doesn't want to downgrade settings. Then you're at the mercy of drivers :(

Well I re-read this thread over a cup of tea before work and not once did I read Dice say "They don't matter". He mentions priorities and that is that. Don't start twisting words Kaap, you are better than that.:)

Low priority is the same as don't matter.

Perhaps Dicehunter could state that SLI and C/F users do and should matter and then we will all be on the same page.

I've recently went from sli 780 to a single 980ti. Grunt wise its a sideways move. But far less hassle. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of sli when it works well and have used many different cards in sli over the years. But like some are saying, often you do feel that support isn't as good as it could be. Hopefully things improve with new API's such as DX12 as I probably will go sli again at some point.

Thing is Kaap, we didn't/don't matter, hence quite a few peeps have dropped to one card systems.

Sli/Xfire users are and always will be an after thought.IMHO

This and whilst it isn't right, that is the truth. Many PC games are poor ports from console and lack any kind of PC love but we still buy them. If we were that ****ed off, we wouldn't buy them and then they would have to listen but the reality is completely different sadly.

I'd agree, when it works it's great, but I think there isn't enough incentive for devs to add sli/cf support with I guess is extra expense, time etc, due probably to the low user base of mgpu users.

This is only further reinforced I think when profiles for the games that do support it, take an age to get to us, just no incentive.

I've been so tempted recently to just sell both and go back to single card when pascal/Arctic islands hit the shelves.

For me AK was the final straw for MGPU. I've effectively downgraded from 2 x 980 SLI to a single Ti but now have all of my available performance in all of my games.

In the 7 months I used 980 SLI, 50% of the games I tried worked flawlessly. A further few required manually messing with profiles - and in the case of Watch Dogs downgrading certain game files in order to work, and the remainder didn't work at all with MGPU. It simply wasn't good enough IMO. On the plus side, the games that did work scaled better and ran more smoothly than with older versions of SLI/CF.

I'm hopeful DX12 will make MGPU viable again in future.
