Batman™: Arkham Knight Performance

Yeah iirc it said something about curing the random frame drops in the last patch which was the only outstanding issue for some.

It shouldn't have been this broken to begin with, but kudos to them for plugging away at it, they could easily have seen it as too much work and refunded/abandoned it.

No they could not afford to do that, the reputation for doing so would be far worse seeing as you can get refunds anyway.

Can't see frames in that and I don't think you can run the GameWorks effects in it?

Frame rate is in the middle.. I forgot to open action and alt tab removed steam overlay.
Frame rate was high 40s to 60 depending what was going on.
Gameworks effects all work on AMD mate, the only effects that don't work is when gpu Physx is used like smoke in this.

At 1080p this game is locked solid at 60fps for me. 1440p like the videos frame rate is abit lower but it still remains to play very smooth. Maybe Freesync is also helping out but even still they got rid of that horrible stutter I seen in people's youtube videos.

Cool but if you are doing a performance vid, probs best to show the performance ;)

Yeah I agree :p the fps counter in the middle of screen is better on the raw footage but because of youtube compression it's effected it..
Tbh this wasn't really about me showing what frame rate I getting we all know a single 290 @1440p won't keep 60fps. The aim was to show that this game doesn't have the horrible performance it used to have like the massive stutters etc

I am only teasing ya Shanks and paying you back for doing the same to me :p Does look like it runs nice :)

Why use Mirillis Action?

Use the AMD Game DVR, Mirillis Action uses the CPU which hampers performance, unless they have added VCE now?

Action uses them all you get a choice of Intel, Or GPU based nvidia or amd.
But I like to use AVI codec I can higher the bit rate up more and get better quality..

I tested and frame rate loss isn't that much only around 5 fps I was very surprised by this software it works just has good as GPU recording I not sure what they doing under the hood

Ah ok, last time i used it (Some time ago now) it had non'a that....

Not Recording 69fps

Recording 65fps

I not sure what they doing but this isn't using GPU.

What they say seems to live up to expectations.
The outstanding performance!
Action! defines a new standard of performance for gameplay and desktop recording software. It uses Mirillis ultra-fast, multicore optimized, proprietary video codec (FICV - Fast Intra Compression Video standard) which together with highly optimized application engine provides the ultimate performance of real-time
HD video recording. Action! laso captures video directly to MP4 format utilizing NVIDIA NVENC, AMD APP or Intel® Quick Sync Video hardware acceleration.

AMD has a tiny little encoding chip as part of the main GPU die, VCE, thats whats doing the work.

With Intel and Nvidia its a similar thing on the i/GPU.....

Am not using the GPU setting though. That is switched off with GPU I can only record MP4 1080p 60fps
With Actions main setting that am using I can record 4k and what ever frame rate I want even 120fps with much higher bit-rate.

1080p 60fps avi vs GPU based is only couple fps difference and the quality difference is much better on actions main setting.

Maybe its just got more efficient over time, better newer codecs, 7% perf hit according to your above post, not bad, it was about 15 - 20% last time i used it.
