Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Thing is on scale to Marvel the scores don't make sense.

I mean, look at the IronMan Movies that started the Marvel Cinema universe.
First was excellent, second was terrible third was a complete train wreck, yet, they seem to score well and people think they are good. Age of Ultron was just as terrible, yet critic's seemed to love it.

I went in expecting it to be pretty bad after hearing critics tear it to shreds, but I loved it! Hell the entire theater was slammed and at the end people cheered and clapped.

This is 'merica though lol

Looking at a lot of the user reviews on here and elsewhere plus the critics reviews I think I will be waiting for the bluray lol.

So it seems trailers actually are indicative of what the film will be like, who'd have thought it.

I didn't think the second iron man was too bad but the third was horrible, age of ultron was ok but it was terribly basic :p

Why did batman....

Bother to set up numerous miniguns considering he knows they won't affect superman? The sonic device i can understand, for one its a throw back to the cartoon, and considering he has super hearing it may have had an effect. But miniguns?

Zach Synder had crammed a lot iconic comic scenes into the movie which can sometimes make the sequence a little Disjointed. It is straight from Dark Knight Returns

Why is it on ocuk whenever someone disagrees with someone the "fanboy" or "bandwagon" BS comes out? Why cannot people accept others have differing opinions or if not at least discuss the specifics as opposed to slating others pointlessly?

I went with 4 others I hated it, 1 loved it, 3 were indifferent. We had a sensible chat over a pint without once insulting each other (well beyond what is reasonably expected :p) despite having differing opinions.

What BS? Slating people?? Are you well? I merely pointed out a lot of people in general make up their mind before watching it for themselves or give it a chance. Not once did I refer to you or anyone specific nor did I insult you in anyway? So please get off the high horse and calm down. You have your opinion and I have mine.

Here is a deleted scene near the end of the movie.

*****SPOILER*****

Last chance if you have not watched it stop now..

Maybe it's a humour thing, why many of the Marvel films get many positive reviews from critics, despite being very average. Iron man 3, being a prime example.

How it works for superhero and non superhero films, I have no idea. Look at Prometheus; no humour at all that I can remember, but critics gave it positive reviews, despite it being a mess of a film, which they accuse BvS of being.

No one will ever understand the way critics rate films though, maybe including themselves. :p

Pretty much my viewpoint on those films (though AoU was lazy), no one thinks the MCU films are all perfect but they are better thought out as a series of films compared to what seems to be happening with DCCU.

Who thought it was a great idea to do it back to front without at least throwing out a few origin movies - or just make BvS just about BvS and let their 'Avengers ensemble' happen later. They made the film attempt to do a hundred things at once and it felt forced.

ps3ud0

Well I though it was pretty excellent, I understand some of the editing parts, but overall I don't see it as a major problem in the movie.

What's that supposed to show?

Thought it was very good - was expecting much worse - sufficiently different from the earlier batman films, good score, perhaps tried to stuff too much in and Wonder Woman seemed a bit superfluous other than setting up future films.

I'm guessing it was showing Lex all the history that was stored in the Vault it was that weird metal shaping stuff that was in MOS that formed shapes etc, and it would seem Lex put out the call to Darkweid

Thanks - makes sense with the very end of the film.

Also
when Bruce has the dream sequence whilst decrypting the data who comes out of the screen? I assume it was another DC character?

I saw this today - was exactly as I expected. Let's face it we all knew the plot before we went in there:

Bat dislikes superman
Superman somehow gets tricked into fighting batman
Neither of them kill each other
A new enemy arrives
They team up to kill it
Neither superman or batman die

I mean - what could they add on that, really?! I suppose that's the problem... All these films setting up for other films.

I have a few batman comics and personally I really dislike crossovers. I quite like batman neatly in his little bat universe. It all gets a bit too fantastical when superman and the like come in for my liking.

I haven't really read any other reviews, but if they are negative I think it's because everyone is fatigued by the genre. I have no specific complaints with the film, other than it was so obvious.... But it was always going to be!

Hmm yep could be.

- Ben Affleck is a good Bruce Wayne, but an average Batman
- Eisenberg is beyond irritating. It took about 4 seconds
- More Wonder Woman plz

Story didn't really go anywhere for two and a half hours, found myself rather bored through most of it which is a shame. Nolan forever...
