Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

My brother seen it for the second time and pointed out something very interesting to me about the movie and a sequel.

It's building up to Justice League Flashpoint Paradox

First off Jeffrey Dean Morgan plays Thomas Wayne, why is there such a big actor for such a small role? He had a massive role in Watchmen under Snyder and directors always have their go to guys. We see the story of Bruce Wayne's parents again when everyone knows the back story by now.

Thomas Wayne is normally just a normal guy but in this version he is a big physical presence and we see him clench his fist and go for the bad guy.
It's a version of Thomas Wayne that we normally don't see.

In Flashpoint Paradox Bruce Wayne dies when his family is confronted by the guy that robs their family and Thomas Wayne ends up being Batman.

We know there is time travel because we seen the Flash come back and warn Batman and tell him "Lois is the key"

My brother thinks that The Flash will go back in time to save Lois and alter the universe while doing it thus creating Flashpoint Paradox.

Anyone agree?

i really like this film, But the more i think about the film the more i realize how bad it was, yet i still like it.

Interesting.

But you also have to see that they could down the route of Injustice. Where Lois is killed by The Joker and Superman kills him in retaliation much to the behest of Batman! Hence the knightmare scene! It could work either way.

That could also happen, will be interesting to see what path it takes.

I still dont think Zack Snyder should direct it. With Man of Steel and Batman vs Superman he bottled both of the movies imo.

Watching the fight at the end it is abundantly clear that how out of depth Batman is compared to Superman and Wonder Woman. Whereas the other 2 can hold their own against Doomsday, all Batman can do (in that suit) is run away.

The only thing about your theory that might be an initial stumbling block is:

Synder cast Carla Gugino too (she's the voice of the AI on the crashed Krypton ship), so I wouldn't read too much into a big actor being cast in a small role, particularly given that Gugino also worked with Synder on Watchmen. Synder was originally going to cast Jesse Eisenberg as the CIA operative that gets shot in the desert, so I wouldn't read too much into casting. In my opinion they are clearly going to be fighting Darkseid in the Justice League film (hence Luthor talking about having got the attention of 'him' at the end of the film and the presence of the Parademons in Batman's apocalypse vision).

I wouldn't be surprised if there is some sort of time travel in the film, but I have to agree with CK61938 that the Injustice story arc is more likely.

I'm the comics they actually forge batman a suit combining all their powers so in fights like that he can be relevant.

My OH is going to watch this today with a couple of friends, I'm usually a big fan of Batman, however I've no interest in seeing this one at all.

Interesting to see what she makes of it.

I read the above as, 'I'm usually a big fan of Batman forever'.

I thought, oh my word, then help... upon realisation of what it actually read. I need to go to specsavers. :(

Watched it last night.

I'm not really a comic book fan and haven't really enjoyed any Batman or DC films other than Nolans but I really enjoyed this.

Yes it was disjointed but I'm now looking forward to the Justice league film whereas before I couldn't care less about it.

I thought Affleck was an incredible Batman.

Shouldn't have wasted the robot suit on the 5 minute fight with Superman I feel perhaps? Though he was real slow in it.

Didn't enjoy the film. I tried. Really wanted to. Just too much and yet really boring all at once. We had a lot of time to flesh out the motives of Lex and Diana etc but we didn't really get any of it. Also, crazy CGI fest at the end.

...Batman was great.

An EMAIL?!?! Are you ****ing serious? It's like somebody went 'What's the laziest way to introduce the other JLA members that takes the least time?'

To add insult to injury, for some reason Lex has paid someone to design their logos? :D Doesn't make any sense.

that suit is nothing, the one in the comic is forged by Superman/WW/Cyborg with input from Flash and Aquaman with the intent of it being used against Darkseid. It's really good and I would imagine a route they must follow if they are going down the Darkseid route.

Injustice would be great to see as a movie. I love the interrogation scene with Batman and the Joker just before you know who loses the plot.

You know when your watching a film and start nodding off for 10min then waking up for a minute then back off again.

Well that's what I felt like I must have been doing in this film as everything was all over the place.

Dunno if I enjoyed it to be honest. Least it has proved something I have said all my life though, that $÷π¢€^÷ would beat £))@&%£; in a fight.

To pre-empt possible replies - I'm not nor have I ever been a comic reader/water/fan so I don't know all the history and story lines that might improve it.

Enjoyed it, but didn't love it. My girlfriend said she almost fell asleep a couple of times in the first hour but then again she hates films that constantly flick between different scenes/times where as I like that.

Thought Batman was pretty irrelevant and it missed a lot of the stuff I enjoy about Dark Knight etc which is the emphasis on Bruce Wayne being a prominent figure who no one knows is Batman, and a lack of new/fancy gadgets.

I'm not a huge Superman fan but thought that side of it was great but I still laugh every time it shows Clark Kent - those glasses sure are a quality disguise :D

Overall bit too much constant action/fighting imo.

Not sure if linking a video with another word for poop is going to go down well with mods... I know they frown upon videos with certain words that are linked, but whether 'that' word is one of them, I can't say for sure. Just thought I'd best warn you in case the suspension hammer comes down. :p

Edit: Just got to the F word, so I'd just remove it now. It will only get pulled anyway, and you'll get a suspention.

Good video though, otherwise. :)

I wasn't overly impressed with it to be honest it felt very disjointed most of the time and had little to no real flow...

Possible spoilers below..

Honetly it felt like the more recent games had been ported to the big screen, Batman does not use guns he never has done due to what happened to his parents so that is a big no no.

The dream sequences were just dumb and served no purpose, Batman is not prophetic and can't predict the future for heavens sake!
