Features:
• Frostbite 2 – Battlefield 3 introduces Frostbite 2, the incredible technology that takes animation, destruction, lighting, scale and audio to new heights. Built upon this powerful game engine, Battlefield 3 immerses players physically and emotionally to the world around them like never before.

• Feel the Battle — Feel the impact of bullets and explosions, drag your fallen comrades into safety, and mount your weapon on almost any part of the terrain. • Unparalleled Vehicle Warfare — The best online vehicle warfare experience gets even better with a fitting sonic boom as fighter jets headline impressive lineup of land, air and sea vehicles.

• Urban Combat — Take the fight to iconic and unexpected places in the USA, Middle East, and Europe including claustrophobic streets, metropolitan downtowns, and open, vehicle-friendly landscapes as you fight your way through the war of tomorrow.

Paris? New York? Presumably this isn't "special forces" type stuff, rather a continuation of BF2's global war?

^ sounds awesome.

Sounds very interesting but i'm thinking this combined with prone that the game is going to be much much more campy.

Agreed and generally people just fighting in the sky with Jets.

I think due to the fact i've gotten so used to BF:BC2, that i prefer that sort of gameplay over a large terrain.

Yeah hopefuly it's going to like BF2 which means a full on battlefield with jets, tanks, choppers the lot, we have had our fill of COD and BC pap, bring on the real battlefield. And yeah there will be maps that solely infantry based so everyone is catered for.

War is pretty campy, depends how the game deals with offence and defence objectives. A multiplayer game will always be only as good as the people playing it but hopefully they balance it well. With 64 players in the field it shouldn't be too much of a problem in my opinion. I could never camp in BF2, I was just terrible.

Generally people just want to fly jets, so i reckon there will be almost zilch infantry based maps which people will be hosting on their servers. If they add things like tracers etc, then brilliant.

Camping is a tactic whatever way you look at it,as i said before this can help a match as it stops the rambo type of players you see again and again on bad company going for glory,i would have been disappointed if they had taken out prone for BF3..:)

a lot of people are getting ahead of themselves and doing DICE's job for them right now by bigging the game up, assuming the maps are going to be the size of BF:2's just because they stated 64 player multiplayer [64/64=128? or 32/32=64?].

What's preventing them from making a BF:BC2 clone, with slightly bigger maps, 1 jet either side, Frostbite 2 engine, with the addition of prone? They also have BF:2 Free to Play to appear as well, not to mention the Onslaught Map Pack was stopped to most likely be put into BF:3, and it would cost them a lot of money to make two completely seperate games dedicated to PC's and Consoles.

I hope i'm wrong for the sake of DICE's health.

dragging is an Arma 2 feature some guys modded in. Doesnt sound very arcadey, revive taking more then 1 second?

Mounting a weapon makes the engine sound pretty advanced and also that recoil would actually matter. ie. steady your weapon

where as now you jump over a wall while firing your sniper weapon for awesome headshot
