Trailer shows us nothing  except that the BF2 music is back :D Never liked that BC2 doesnt have an awesome into, would it have been so hard for them to make a 2 minute gameplay video?!

As stated earlier, a games enjoyment is more to do with who you play with, than it's features.

My only cynicism is regarding the release date. I reckon they will bottle it going up against COD and the game will be released in March 2012.

BF3 will crush the recycled bore-fest yearly cash cow known as COD, especially on the PC.

That's a strong opinion considering that you haven't actually seen BF:3, and CoD and BF:BC2 also shows a lot of people have enjoyed the game and still do, making it not a complete cash cow. I get the impression you disliked both and felt you got robbed?

May i remind people that some of you thought Black Ops was going to be the saviour to MW2, and you ended up getting disappointed due to bugs, etc. and now you're doing the same for BF:3. Just be more aware, otherwise it might be the same scenario and comments all over again.

I don't really agree, the thing is a games features effect what you can do with the people who you play with, in BC2 for example, you had your mates with you, but first off, the squad cap was so low so some of your mates couldn't fully play alongside you in your squad, which sucked. Also everywhere was narrow, so many bottlenecks, you couldn't really ninja-cap with your mates, or do funny tactics or have epic suicide runs or just generally dick around in choppers/jets.

Friends will help distract you from a games poor gameplay for times, but ultimately the gameplay is what keeps you interested in the game over a longer period of time, and the enjoyment you get from that time period.

When I played with my mates BC2 was brilliant, but it quickly lost it's shine as you get repetitive maps/scenarios because of the design of the maps themselves. BF2 and even BF2142 hooked me for around the same time/or more, just because their gameplay was better, even though I didn't play with anyone I knew.

The only difference between a mugging and Activision is that muggers have the decency to come there in person.

Ooof, £39.99 for an EA Store version of a new game! £5 increase on last year. Atleast it's not the £49.99 of Activision.

Will wait for £10 birthday code & get it.

Loved BC2, couldn't go back to 2/2142 after they felt so clunky. I can't imagine not being able to destroy terrain these days.

where as now you jump over a wall while firing your sniper weapon for awesome headshot

You can do that no matter how artifically bad they make the accuracy.

unless they make it so the bullets bed 90 degrees and fly off the the screen you'll be able to up close no scope nubs as they spray their full auto rifles wildly missing.

Is that right, steam sales alone say different.

The top ten selling titles on Steam for 2010 by estimated gross revenues:

1. Call of Duty: Black Ops (Activision) - $98.2 Million USD
2. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Activision) - $39.4 Million USD
3. Left 4 Dead 2 (Valve) - $36.0 Million USD
4. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (Electronic Arts) - $25.4 Million USD
5. Sid Meier's Civilization V (2K Games) - $21.9 Million USD
6. Portal (Valve) - $20.0 Million USD
7. Fallout: New Vegas (Bethesda Softworks) - $17.0 Million USD
8. Metro 2033 (THQ) - $13.4 Million USD
9. Mafia II (2K Games) - $11.9 Million USD
10. Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II: Chaos Rising (THQ) - $10.8 Million USD

The report indicates that the Xbox 360 gaming platform has sold over 4.9 million units, the PS3 version sold 3.1 million units.

Call of Duty: Black Ops sold a total of 400,000 units between the Nintendo DS, PC and Wii. All the sales rounded up to 8.4 million units sold, copies sold over steam were not included in this report.

If we take the price of Black ops which is $50, and look into how much revenue was gained on steam you can probably give a good estimate of the sales figures. Yes it's not more than the 2 big consoles, but it's certainly not 3%.
