If 64 player is exclusive to PC.. then that means 1 of 3 things.

a:
We will get the exact same maps as the consoles and they will simply fill them to bursting

b:
We get the exact same maps as the consoles with one, maybe two 64 player maps

c:
We get a totally different SKU to the consoles with different maps and a fully PC control set which is not based around a 360 pad.

or they do what they did with bf2 and there is a big 64 player map and they just use certain sections for the consoles.

Like they do in SQDM in bc2.

def need an upgrade and have the itch anyway with Sandy out...

Will Bulldozer be out before BF3?

You wont need a Bulldozer or Sandybridge for BF3.....not when its basically a jazzed up frostbite engine.

I bet a good current Quad core and 4GB Ram will be an optimum rig.

Your Gfx card will determine how well this plays on your PC..not CPU.

True, never thought of that.

My main concern is losing the "battlefield" effect which BF2 captured soo well.

Even if you were playing solo, you could see/hear all the different battles going on around you with Jets going at it, then the helis flying over you, just plain awesome. You could just sense that further ahead all hell was breaking loose.

*Begins download of BF2 on Steam

jets are back

Possibly, remember the original bc2 nam teaser also had jets in it. I suspect they will be in it myself but you never know with dice.

That teaser though was pretty crap, :( Oh and great prone is back, i suppose the infantry combat will have the same farsical feel that it did in BF2 with people proning every 2 seconds.

Now I'm sorry, but the lack of prone is the single worst thing to happen to PC fps games in as long as I can remember.

Being shot the **** out of > run to cover > crouch behind crates > get head blown off.

It makes *zero* sense.

BF2 was plagued for a long time with people abusing the prone system, it took Dice multiple attempts to actually fix it properly. If theyre going to put it in this game it will have to have a very slow animation or at the least take a few seconds for the person going prone to be able to aim.

So did Prone being superior for 1v1 infantry combat because nobody ever ****ing does it properly. Just look at Black Ops. Some people you fight practically have prone bound as a toggle to mouse 1, infact i'm certain some people do. Seriously you watch killcams of people coming up behind you and they STILL drop to prone to shoot you in the back.

Sorry but i'll take no prone over a ****ty implementation any day.
