I think the only reason there's a SP is because I don't think console gamers would buy an MP only game at full price. Plus EA are desperate to compete with COD and that has a SP included.
 
SP will probably be a fail, like BC2. Doesn't matter, it'll probably be tacked on just to make console players happy, also some people don't like playing games online so it caters for them too.

maybe so but everyone, like me only care about multiplayer and is that not want bf games are all about

You can have an unranked server (that you can mod etc) but hosted though their partners.

same as bf2 iirc.

0.1% chance of a good one. The browser in 1942 and bf2 was bad, very bad, but in 2142 they kinda hit the spot. A decent freinds list, server list that would actualy show servers and not a blank screen.

They weren't at launch though were they?

I thought dice always kept server files private for a long time (at least till they wanted to stop supporting it at a high level)
 
Big issue with this game in my view, everyones getting hyped for it but the fact remains after Ea\Dice screwed over Trauma Studios (Desert Combat devs) the majority of them left the Company. Last i read there were only a couple of the original BF2 devs left at Dice.

Which raises the obvious question, Are they are able to make a game as good as BF2 with most of the key people missing? Suppose the Beta should give us a good indication at least.

They were avaiable from day 1 and on the game disk. Remember that most people went and hired ranked servers because it was the only way to get stats.

to be fair they never charged for the DLC but they did say the sdk would be available this year for BC2 so maybe we might get it for BF3 instead.

And I hope they don't have the gun positions to the side of your face like in BC2 compared to BF2 where they was in line with your lower chest

il be up for that tbh, if karkands one then clearly wake is in there aswell....will happily by the LE or dlc for those two maps...providing of course that the base game is bf2 style not bc2.

I don't recall dice ever stating that an sdk was coming for bc2. One of the programmers put a large post on the official forum showing how complicated and resource hungry creating content was.
 
Maps for DLC(cost) only sucks, splitting those who don't purchase and those that do up at select times. Laughable there's even DLC/Expansions mentioned before we've even seen gameplay.
 
Had a blast on bf2 and by god its still as good as i remember. Still has its faults but its a gem. I would not mind if dice took bf2 and remade it in hd with a new engine. I would also like to see dedicated air maps, a battle of britain 1942
