Same as me papa! Reg is awesome for me! I just think people enjoy moaning!

Well sorry to burst your bubble but i have a good connection.

But when u are on teamspeak with friends and I am on bazaar and pump about 10 bullets into one guy and even get hitmarkers for it but get shot by a mate, and he says on TS on his screen I didnt even shoot something is wrong.

Most of the time its fine but there are some rather annoying derpmoments. Shot a guy with 4 bullets from a .44 (about 1 meter) and didnt get a kill.
Its just a derp between 2 inputs where the game ****s something up.

Stop harping on about "player skill" for a start. Why does everyone think that all FPS games have to come down to how quick/accurate your aim is, given how much more these is to the game?

Actually, I'm the opposite and rely on my positioning more than anything else, but when you can just run in and gun everyone down like Raven showed in that video it just doesn't matter anymore. The evidence is in this very thread and it shows how stupid it has become, yet you take offense when I put it into words. Oh, and FYI, I mentioned player skill once, that hardly amounts to harping on.

Sorry I was just lumping your response in either all the others where people think skill = aiming.

It depends.

A sniper bullet will more effectively suppress you than a standard rifle round. You can use suppression resistance to try and counter some of the effect.

I honestly don't find a problem with it, I admit the effect is increased from before but I haven't found my game has suffered because of it.

If someone gets a first shot at you, but misses, fire back at them while running for cover.

Treat it like you would real life.

In real life, if someone was shooting at you, you would not stand there and try and aim to fire back, you would dive for cover and then either wait for them to reload or try and fire back from cover.

Personal I think it's a dumb mechanic for the simple reason that you can be suppressed by any gun. Had it been support class specific then it would have made a bit more sense and wouldn't have been quite as annoying.

I thinK dice have already said the effect was a bit overdone, apparently also looking into making it a server side option where the effect can be adjusted in strength.

You dont find maps with aircraft are a pain to play with them decimating just about everything totally unhindered? Just about any aircraft map now is nothing but planes and helis laying waste to everything, and thanks to dice breaking aa missiles its tough to do anything about it. Just about any vehicle is getting raped by one pass from jets with rocket pods, heli's with missiles or lock on missiles.

As I pretty much only play infantry I really haven't noticed much difference with aircraft. The Stinger is still as useless as it was before, so I just take the hiding a lot from aircraft approach! Doesn't work very well though :(

I'm enjoying the new patch and suppression effects. Game just got a bit more realistic with this feature. I can see a lot of people dont like it though but i think its a good addition. They just need to nerf air threats a bit now to balance things up again.

The suppression change hasn't really changed much for me. It does make me scramble for cover more than it used to, but that's just because the effect is more noticeable so it alerts me I'm under fire.

Ragequit? No, the game has been made significantly worse than it was, sorry for not supporting a patch that makes a game easier for noobs and decreases the need for any skill, but hey, perhaps you're one of them. :p

Seems to me most of the items you posted should really be making the game harder if you want to combat them? Or is that why you quit?

I agree, but that could be because i use an acog so dont feel the effects of the suppression as much. I also use squad covering as to reduce the effect of suppression. For me its a good thing though, if someone is suppressing me with bullets i dont think i should be able to just ignore their bullets and shoot them back like a boss lol.

Sorry I was just lumping your response in either all the others where people think skill = aiming.

No that's fine, it's just that in so many tactics that I used before the patch now no longer work, for example forget trying to sneak up on anyone when you're suppressed, you'll most likely die despite having the element of surprise. Either it's suppression affecting hitreg or it's lag due to the patch (my average ping to UK servers is 14ms, and I can a consistent 58-60fps) but my shots just don't seem to be connecting anymore.

I had an excellent game over multiple maps with the G3A3 in single shot last night.

I was MORE than happy with the hit reg, leading at range was perfect. I had 1 or 2 "Round the corner" kills where my last bullet fired left the chamber a second or 2 before the actual kill register but that has always been the case with BF3 sometimes.

I even was able to kill a few people who opened on me first despite being suppressed. I currently make sure that Squad Covr is always in the squad if not being used by someone else - Not sure how much of a difference it makes.

This is exactly the point Ive been making about supression. Everyone cries "omg but whoever fires first wins lol". Well, that's kinda the point, and what happens in real gunfights. If you get the drop on someone because you are positioned better, firing from a geographical advantage and they aren't under cover, it's kind of a given that you should have the advantage. Crying that these people have "no skill" is rubbih; they were obviously skilled enough to think about what they were doing enough to fire before you did.

I think its down to people thinking that because it's an FPS and that they are pro shooters or whatever, that they should be able to mitigate a tactical advantage with mouse skills. The real lesson is that there is more to playing skillfully and intelligently than being able to aim more quickly and accurately than your opponent.

yesterday i had a blast at the PGG server, scored in single match 156Kills 34Death

G36 and L96 :) even some noobs started reporting me to the server admin. r0fl

Couldn't agree with you more.

Its frustrating when multiple people in the squad have the same thing selected. I always choose based on what everyone else is already using to make sure we get the most benefit.

Very annoying. I was in a squad last night with 3x Ammo. :(

Suffice to say I found a better specialised squad pronto! :D

This.
100 times this.

For suppression to work, it has to prevent you from accurately firing back.

If it upsets people that they cant headshot a guy while they are under heavy fire, I suggest moving to COD, as BF3 is not for you.

Yeah that is annoying. I always check every so often but sometimes new people join your squad packing the same perks and it can take a while before you realise.

Sure looks like a ragequit to me.

I'd actually like to think I'm pretty skilled in BF3, and shooters in general.

Look me up in battlelog if you like (Davepen).

I find the patch hasn't really affected my game much, because I was using correct cover/tactics before the patch.

Fire and maneuver, it's the name of the game.

3 F's

Find the enemy
Fix the enemy in position
Finish the enemy.

That video was showing Metro in 64 man.

That cant honestly be used as a good representation of suppression...
