This is a good game but imo ruined by selling weapon packs and trying rip everyone off with map packs calling them addons. They should just make one price and sell the game. It also gives all the people that buy all the addons an advantage and makes the games for people who don't want to spend another £50 buying all the packs kind of unfair.

I much prefer games that require experience to unlock weapons and games that give map packs for free as updates. Also web based server lists are ****.

I don't think they sold many weapon packs to be fair. The only people who would have bought them will be people who are crap at the game anyway. Facts are that most of the starting weapons and early upgrades are the best weapons anyway.

The maps packs thing I kind of agree on but everyone has been doing it for years, including BF2.

Would you have paid £80+ (which is ultimately what it will cost) for the game with all the previous and future map packs?

game expansions are as old as gaming itself. Even battlefield 1942 had expansion packs with Secret Weapons of World War II etc.. Which added new weapons and new levels.
 
Just a heads-up for you guys. My account was hacked this morning (or prior to that) - my email address was changed and user ID was changed. I managed to get onto EA support and they managed to restore it after going through lots of personal questions only I would know.

I would never, ever, have fallen foul of a phishing scam, so this is clearly some kind of account hack. EA statement says there's been no database compromise/issue but I have my doubts. I think someone's found a way in... there are LOTS of reports of account hacking happening lately.

My advice is to change your password AND YOUR USER ID ASAP - get off whatever database might have been hacked and protect your account with a secret question.
 
How long will it take playing online to get a fully upgraded tank? I've been playing for quite a while but never see anyone with the extra armour on the tank...

Also best map for tanks as atm I play rush or Conquest on firestorm or whatever it's called, the one in the desert with all the oil pump smoke..

The way you join and take part in the November Premium exclusive competition is unchanged from last month. If you are a Premium member, you will be able to join our Premium specific servers via the password that you receive below after having accepted the terms and conditions. The servers are all named “November Premium Competition” followed by a number and are available on all three formats via the server browser. Detailed instructions below.

How to join the November competition
1. Become a Premium member
Make sure you are a Premium member. This competition is exclusive to our more than 2 million Premium members.

2. Download Armored Kill
The competition will run in Conquest/Conquest Large game mode from Armored Kill only, so make sure you have downloaded Armored Kill (available at no extra charge if you are a Premium member). Download instructions.

3. Join our servers
Find one of the Premium exclusive competition servers. These will all be named “November Premium Competition” and have a number attached to it. You can search for this name using the manual server browser’s filter functionality.

4. Enter the server password
Enter the password for the Premium exclusive competition server. You will find the password when confirming below that you have read and agreed to the terms and conditions for this competition.

5. Capture and defend bases
During 72 hours, we will monitor who can accumulate the most base captures and defends (including assists, so help your team mates!) in Armored Kill. Be one of the top 5 on your format to win a limited edition, signed and numbered lithograph featuring artwork from Battlefield 3.

Competition times
The competition runs the 72 hours of Friday, Saturday and Sunday November 23-25. Note that we use the UTC time zone to decide start and end times. Click this link to see when the start time corresponds to in your time zone. Technically, the competition will start already on Thursday evening November 22 if you are located on the west coast of America, for example.

Maps and modes played
The map rotation will be all maps in Armored Kill playing in Conquest mode (consoles) and Conquest Large (PC).

Winners notification
Winners will be posted on Battlelog shortly after the competition ends, and then contacted via email with a winner’s code they can redeem at the DICE Store to claim their price and have it shipped to them.

I have read and agree to the terms and conditions.
Confirming that you have read and accepted the terms & conditions will reveal the password that you need to be able to enter the competition servers.

I agree, the game is all over the shop in my opinion. WTF buy premium to reset stats? Buy Premium for annoy players you've killed as its adverstised on-screen that they are a 'Premium PLayer', buy it TO BE ORANGE!!
I did stop playinig for ages because of the |Premium fiasco, but started playing again lately and ENJOYING it. But it's not anywhere near as good as an experience as it should be, such a shame.
 
I remember the 20% off discount code scenario which a lot of posters here took part in when pre-ordering the limited edition and it was pita trying to get the code from indian call centres lol :p

Almost every post in those days was filled with about 20% off discount code :D

know how you feel, had that happen to me :(.

seems like someone sold my origin account onto someone, i've managed to get the account banned and the games moved across to a new account, but i've been told if the person that has the account now complains my new account will get banned as well :rolleyes:
 
My account has been hacked, listening to some terrible hold music on the phone with EA now. Does anyone know of any quicker way to get through or other options?

Edit: All sorted now, guy on other end was pretty helpful actually despite my anger (I only play BF3 on the PC so he got my back up saying it seems to be happening to users with a lot of different games using the same email/password) but fine again.

How did yours get hacked? I changed my password a few days ago after reading these problems just in case even though none of my passwords match any other accounts, as well as it's an email alias from my main account. Checked the verify part for the account as well.

Though I see nowhere to setup a secret question.

mine too a few days ago mate...some russian hacker changed my soldier name and emaill address of my origin account so i couldnt login. I was pleased that EA sorted it out quick during a phone call...so good on them for once.
