Personally I'm not too bothered about the commander. I was an aid but I can't say I was the commander more than... once!

I wouldn't mind either way.
 
No commander?? errrrr

That was one of the key defining roles in BF2... It actually made sense, it gave squads direction and purpose ( if people were playing properly)

Well enjoy BC2 pt2 BF3.. It will look pretty but they are tearing out the heart of the game.
 
No commander is a major disappointment and reeks of compromise for the console crowd.

Anyone who's played BF2 properly will know how useful a good commander is, especially when he's communicating with you over voice comms. It also adds a much better sense of cohesion and purpose to the gameplay.

No Commander?

Streamlining again for console gamers!, Those DERPS get on my nerves :(. Pc Gaming isn't dieing, it's just developers trying to kill the pc games to make it easier for console derps
 
No commander doesn't bother me. I know people want a copy and paste remake of BF2 in a better engine, but usually a higher number means some things change.
 
We could implement it, but the questions is “how do you get the threshold lower?” That’s not by making it more complicated. Our challenge is to make sure that anyone that just jumps into the game will get it. One of the biggest problems with Commander was that only two people could use it. Some people like it but most people didn’t care.

One could say the same about tanks or jets or helicopters. Following this logic every map will have a jet and helicopter and tank for every player so that everyone can get one of these.
I enjoyed playing the commander from time to time and with a good team I could really make a difference.
 
Just wait and see. Might be great, might not. No point crying about it now.

Whatever it turns into you can be sure it won't be the same as what has gone before it.

I am looking forward to buying it, playing it and hopefully enjoying it...and for that I am excited about it!
 
Dice are making a big mistake not including a command screen. Commander was and is a big part of bf2 and gave the game yet another edge to multiplayer gameplay..
Im hoping the leaked info is wrong or dice have come up with something even better but im with the idea its dumping down.
What im hoping is that 64p pc game will have a command screen and that with consoles its been removed due to smaller amount of people.

Agreed, if it is the "real" follow-up to Battlefield 2 as they stated it is, its gotta have more than four.

fellas fellas,BF3 will be full of DLC at a later date,they are just stripping out a few features so to add later on,i think there will more than few costumes for this, new maps/New sqauds,new commander addons imm sure...:)
