i hope your wrong

Note that most complained about game is in very little way related to how good the game will actually be. It could make you a brew on arrival and the PC gaming community at large will still say how it stewed the tea bag because console boys like it that way.

7:52 Commander out of 945 hours, I doubt I'll miss it.

Not too sure about my playing mate, who's on 147hours as commander...

My friend Stan, who's on 881 hours as commander, won't be happy!

I play a lot rts and fps games so after i been on a rts game and commanding my troops all the time.

It's nice to jump on a battlefield game and just play as a grunt i like the idea of no responsibilities to think about but to kill the enemy and help my team as a soldier.

So with no commander i don't care if it was in as i never really liked using in the first place i will leave commander role to some one who likes it :D

but it's not just those that use it who'll miss it, it's the normal players who lose the cohesion and orders from the commander that makes the game something more than the normal mad rush.

I hear what your saying, generally, I find most commanders to be plebs so I ignore them anyway - which is a shame.

Removing it because not everyone finds it "accessible" is an even greater shame.

Also the commander feature is one of those features that isn't strictly necessary to the play the game, i.e. it's a tool that can be used, but doesn't have to be. I'm pretty sure from a development standpoint it's not going to be incredibly difficult to include it in BF3, hence including it will do no harm.

one ting i'd like is if you could draw on the map like alien swarm.

Only people in the same squad can see each other's drawings, and then the commander can see everyone's and also draw things that everyone can see.

Would need options to turn it off though or remove the commanders or just your squads lines.

To much work, you imagine the abuse that would get from idiots.

yep just imagine being aple to mark our where you want the LMG guys to lay down fire or a commander pointing out enemy lines, marking houses to be hit with rpg's to clear out a nest.

Thing is ArmA would be better suited. BF is kbown for its gung'ho and some co-op play. The commander being the only exception. It would be a lot for developers to intergrate for something i think in my opinion would be under utilised as everyone want to get straight in to the 'Battlefield'.
