Wonder if or to what extent they're doing body awareness? Man, there's so much they could do with that, for first person games in general.

For example, they could completely do away with health bars/regen and make it where you simply view your condition based on how tattered/bloodied your clothes are. I'm sure they could work out a system where certain points would gradually wear/tear and also have it so wounds appear exactly where they struck. Things would mend (i.e. fade) back to normal when you heal (could simply do with preventing you from looking down then). Add that to injured legs making you hobble and such, tho in my opinion leave the ****ed vision out of it or make it contextual.

Another thing, being able to actually see the character manipulate gadgets/gear from pouches or pockets. Optionally, of course, as the camera shouldn't be forced, other than maybe during tutorials. As you may have guessed, when checking your ammo/suplies, forget numbers on a hud; you just look down at the relevant pouch.

Am I just insane, or would this stuff make first person much more awesome? :D

Some of that yeah maybe but tbh it just sounds like it would work better in a third person game.

In my opinion all of it would work, to varying degrees of detail and difficulty of implementation, in both 1st and 3rd person, except for the realistic ammo checking, which the whole point for that is first-person immersion.

In any case, we're probably a long ways off technologically. I can, of course, deal with the crude "camera with arms" (or in some, mostly much older cases, simply the gun attached to the camera with no hands or anything), but would very much like things to improve for immersion, gameplay, and such's sake.

Iam very much looking forward to this game looking at and reading from what I have seen I'm very keen to pre order from EA only thing is! do I get the Beta access before release off the game?

Two things:

Love the new BF theme tune. Pretty awesome.

Did anyone else notice the 'Return to Karkand' (something to do with the preorder) bit in the trailer - a remake of that map would be awesome.

Is there not 4 maps in BF3 that are remakes of BF2 maps? One of which, surely, is Karkand.

Hoping also for Mashtur City, Wake and either Gulf of Oman or Sharqui Peninsula (spelling!!!!!)

is it the back to Karkand which I mentioned and also in the pre order on the ea web site.

I hope my rig can handle this, May need to buy 4GB of RAM Though!

This game looks totally epic. Lets hope its not a let down like most are though!

Thought id let you know, im half iranian and at the end of the video the soldier says kesefat "peice of ****" so.. this has iranian related soldiers in, by the looks of it. Looks like lebanon more than Iran so my best guess is hezbollah.

Lets hope they dont go too far in religion or they will start some very bad and complicated situations. But anyway, this is BF3 - I will expect China and NATO to be in there as well. I think Russian also.

Slight trailer easter egg, someone got it by pasting together all the frames of the blue flickers on the video
