Might just put ram back to stock, 1600mhz, 7,7,7,24 1.35v. Currently at 2133mhz 9,10,10,21 1.55v.

Have been playing for a few days on the rig below under Windows 7 with the settings set to Auto which put them at Ultra. It was playable but the microstuttering and occasional FPS slowdowns were annoying with average FPS around 35-50. Took a punt and did a fresh install of Windows 8 and it's a different game entirely. Granted, the auto settings are showing everything as High now but the microstuttering is completely gone and had no slowdown at all. Average FPS is now 60 - 80 and played a some heavy CQB on a smaller map server earlier and didnt experience slowdown at all. I'm amazed to be honest.

When it first came out I could play great on Win 7.

Then started getting stuck on loading scream.

Updated to latest official driver, and PB. Real crap fps, stuttering. Unplayable really.

Read this thread, updated to latest beta drivers and all seems well again.

All on Auto, mostly high.

So I wonder what the caveat of its best on windows 8 until mantle really means. I assume mantle will run on win 7. I've never even considered 8. I assume there's probably no compatibility issues it just looks eugh.

I just dont get this. It runs fine on Winodws 8 but on Windows 7 it runs rubbish.

Ive had to drop settings to medium to get decent fps. Uptatred bto Beta drivers that seemed to help. But you still have your little niggly issues on Beta. Hopefully it gets sorted for release.

Although the performance boost of 8 makes it tempting, I can't justify going for it, I'll just wait for the mantle update.

I had Windows 8 anyway when I did a new PC build in August.

Honestly, Windows 8 is fine as an O/S. I really like it actually.

win8 99 percent of whining about it is the start menu

there are numerous ways to get round that and it takes about a minute to fix it so its exactly same as win7 menu.

most of my games ive tried run better.

Thanks, actually liking 8 over 7 it was just the stupid start menu that i didn't like.

It's only the preview one but i'll be getting a copy to switch to more permanently.

I've tried a few other games and they seem to run a bit better as well so it's all good in my eyes.
