Battlefield 4 - Performance FIXES Thread (Good or Bad)

CPU: i5 3570K (OC 4.6)
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 780 WF3 (OC 1203mhz & 7mhz Vram)
RAM: 16gb 1600mhz
OS: Windows 8
Drivers: All up todate Inc Nvidia
Problems: Rubber banding, CPU runs at 98% & GPU runs at 99%. Plays smoothy & no major problems...

Other Thought's - I hear people say it looks better than BF3 but this is not the case, play a game of this beta & then go play BF3 ? I know this is only a Beta build but the overall I'm not soldon it ! I find this Beta boring, not a fan of the map, its sluggish to move, tanks feel like they are floating & overall not excited about BF3 after playing the Beta !

I just hope the full game on launch forfill's the hipe ?

I am running around with every setting maxed in game and in nvidia CP, all is good then all of a sudden, for about 20 seconds, it will go down to sub 5 fps. I have no idea why. I am wondering if it happens on the actual server - but others don't seem to have the lag spikes. I think for now I am going to put it on low and concentrate on getting my unlocks!

Had 3 crashes to desktop when trying to load now.

Gone back to the 13.9 drivers to see if that helps things.

//edit

Tried the 13.9 with these settings:

S0gkz2V.jpg

Everything a lot smoother and playable but there is still a jerkiness in movement.

Frames: 17076 - Time: 482360ms - Avg: 35.401 - Min: 1 - Max: 63

I don't know where the minimum of '1' came from. I'm also hoping it didn't run better just because the server was only half full.

(Didn't play in windowed. I just set it to that to get a screen grab afterwards).

Game is good for me, no major problems apart from usual crash (every so often, but obviously is beta!) as already mentioned . Game looks good tho. Getting on Ultra 80/90s, also in Windows 7 and no lag for me is very smooth.

just trying win8 and bf4 lets see the differences :D

That's what mine was doing!

By the way might be worth you trying New (Unoffical) AMD/Nvidia Displayer Uninstaller : DDU
http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18545965&highlight=uninstall

and then installing the latest beta drivers again, some have fixed those drops with that. Others like myself had to go to Windows 8

CPU:AMD Phenom x6 1600t (extra 2 cores unlocked have helped)
GPU:Saphire HD7850 @ 1075/1375
RAM:8GB DDR3 1600
OS:Windows 7 ultimate 64
Drivers:13.10 beta2
Problems: Was having inconsistent frame rate but updated to the beta drivers and installed the directx version that came with battlefield 4 download

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4 Beta\__Installer\directx\redist\DXsetup.exe"

Now the game is very playable at 1680x1050 with most settings on high but no AA

i5 2550k @ 3.3 gb
8gb ram
win 7
6950 2gb

got the beta drivers
1920x res
everything on ultra / 2x msaa

sits at around 50fps when sat still
around 27fps when running about and things are blowing up / shooting etc

only real problem is random drops down to almost 1-2 frames about every 2-3 mins

also odd fuzzy / jaggy blobs in the distance now and then

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
6386, 60000, 75, 148, 106.433
win 8 pro fps

This is on low mesh ultra . on win7 i avg about 85-90 so nice little increase feels smoother aswell.

i5 2500k @ 4.8
16gb RAM
Win 7 64 bit
GTX 680 @ 1200

Lots of stuttering! Messing with settings i can get it really smooth on a empty server. Get up to a 64 player and it all goes down hill.

With limiting FPS and other settings i have it so the CPU or GPU never hit 100% load and I still get times when FPS drop through the floor

Indeed that is a nice jump. Tried with higher settings Dg?

Been thinking of moving to win8 for a while now, but have kept putting it off.

I can't work it out why certain people are having issues and others aren't.

It doesn't seem to matter if you're running W7 or W8, AMD or NVIDIA, AMD or Intel, you just can't nail it down to one thing.

Looking at the benchmarks posted earlier, the FX4300 seems to be performing better than the FX6300 for some reason. I can believe it as well because my FX6300 just isn't cutting the mustard. :(

Seriously anyone with a 500-600-700 series try the 320.49 drivers. I tried the Beta and they were bad, switched to the 320 ones and game was playable. If the beta ones work well for you then ignore the drivers i mentioned.

I5 2500k @ 4.4
8GB Ram
EVGA 680
1680x1050

Playing on mostly high with one or two on low;

Frames: 77633 - Time: 1352092ms (no idea at all on this) - Avg: 57.417 - Min: 18 - Max: 64

This was after a whole round. Not brilliant by any means but playable most the time, hoping this will be sorted out for release.

Still get the stutters and random drops which last a second or two then straight back to 50-60fps.

i reinstalled latest ati drivers beta2

win8 pro 8.0 not 8.1 (that has gained me 5-10 fps in bf4)

overall impressed with how it plays better on win8 which from when i last tried it in games it really didn't offer much difference.

id say to those not sure maybe try the 8.1 version that's free see how you get on.

on ultra setter

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
3807, 60000, 52, 80, 63.450

not bad for a lowly i5 :D
Very good indeed, this will be the same as bf3 when released. An i5 with a single decent gpu will cope grand. Ive said this before as ive been there and an i5 is certainly no slouch. It's only with multi gpu where an i7 helps. No one should base their performance "issues " on an early beta tbh.:)

However though, seeing the difference with win8 has tempted me to splurge the cash again. Or sod it, just go out to the pub, much cheaper.:D
