Battlefield V performance

It would seem that the Vega 56 shows the GTX 1080 the door when it comes to normal DX11 performance at 1440p, pretty poor show really considering it's bought and paid for by Nvidia.

If I didn’t have an x34 gsync monitor I would have gone Vega 64 and super wide freesync in a snap !

yea and the new 590 be great for 1080p and even 1440p owners in BFV.
Recently got my Vega56 and may pick up BFV but I also aim to play path of exile dec 7 with new league, so many choices.

Funny to watch this thread crowded with people unable to buy 2080Ti in first place laughing of satisfaction -and relief- for knowing they don't need to feel left behind in the master race.

Nope, I had a feeling RTX was going to be poor, I had a funny feeling about the 2080ti from the off...the whole series felt rushed and didn’t sit Well with me...I was set on buying one...but sooooooooo glad I used my brain rather than my wallet :D

Most 2080ti owners will play BF5 in DX11 due to micro stutter in DX12....so buying a 2080 card for its features is a complete waste of time money and effort.

The sad thing is most 2080ti owners won’t admit to playing BF5 in DX11 mode for raw performance as they will defend RTX to the hilt...

Which equates to madness as the data on RT in that game is out.

I don't see space invaders in that list of forthcoming RTX titles? :p
Can laugh about it but it's been done on purpose. While waiting for the next frame to be drawn we get to appreciate the reflections.
Am looking forward to trying it anyway :). At least we get to see it for ourselves, in real time :D

Anyway, any forum members actually tried it yet (RT)?

When Titan T I wonder?

I refuse to pay over 450 euro for a card.
Got my vega56 for 440 at last, I waited 14 months but so worth it.

It is getting tiresome now, the same people with the same rubbish. We left you the general speculation thread open for all this. Any further trolling will result in access removed and strikes issued.

I think for the enthusiasts what's gonna happen now is that there's gonna be a split for niches. 8K vs 4K DXR, both 30 fps-ish. For competitive playing you're probably not gonna use it at all even with higher fps (100+ @ 1080p). I'd be curious to know what people would choose between:

1) 4K 60-80 fps
2) 4K 20-40 fps DXR (low->ultra)
3) 8K 30-40 fps
4) 1080p 80-100fps DXR

Btw Guru3d updated with DXR benchmarks. duh thread moved past where I last read and didn't realise it was posted xD

Reading elsewhere, DLSS apparently is not yet implemented. Will be interesting if that gives a boost when it is. Dice said back in Oct they were hoping to get it in for the launch.
