Beat saber

Been playing loads of custom tracks now. Some a pretty good, but I always feel like they dont always flow quite as well as the official beat saber tracks.

Really?

The official tracks are awful. After you've played a few of the stellar custom tracks and are totally synced with the experienced, going back to the originals is completely jarring. Granted there's a ton of rubbish that people put up, and more might just not work for you, but there's some absolute gems out there that make the original tracks look extremely limited.

Hmm i haven't tried that many. May you recommend some? Any genre, I play mostly on expert, slowly moving to expert+

I'm really enjoying the custom songs, but as you say, some are just rubbish.

At the moment I'm attempting a stock song 'Cycle Hit'. Can do it on hard, but only 85% speed on expert.

I did try 90% but failed at 5:01! (of 5:17) :o

Alright so i tried a few more just now and yeah there is a few really good ones.

My fav tracks to play are the official Linkin park songs. They are the most difficult 'expert' tracks i encountered, but really enjoyed playing them. most satisfying tracks for me :)

Rather than post a hit list of my favourites, a short list of songs across the genres that work well from the top of my head. From the 80's Billy Idols White wedding, Holding out for a hero, Bon Jovi's Shot through the heart, and there's a really good dub mix of Michael jacksons Beat it. Moving on a few years look up Alpha beats fascination, the dub mix of Wrecking ball, Ricky martins livin la vida loca. David guetta is a good source of good tracks, Hey Mama, Sexy B, Getting over you.

There's loads more, on my machine at work so don't have a list handy. Look up Major Pickle on bsaber, most of his stuff works, and he does a lot of more contemporary tracks from rock/pop genre if that's what you're in to.

It's happened. Got to say, having just had a very quick check, even someone who doesn't tend to notice framerates, it's clear the sabres are a lot smoother.

Just read up about it. Wonder will it make it harder or easier?? Probably mess up people's timing until they adjust, then scores should improve.

If or when you get to play it at 144hz, you'll really notice.

Smoother is a lot easier but if your only jumping from 80/90 probably not so much. Since i defaulted to 144 i smashed all my records, conquered some of the more technical tracks i couldn't do before, and moved on to playing some expert+ tracks i hadn't a hope in hell chance of doing before.

Between Saber and the Whip, it's what i use the Index for, 144hz is just awesome in comparison to anything else in those games.

I updated today before checking BMBF was compatible - which it isn't.

I've attempted to restore the backup APK in Sidequest but it fails every time.

Has anyone got a backup they can share please?

I can share screenshots etc to prove I've bought and own the game.

Thanks

I did the same lol. The APKs are individually signed to an oculus account so can't be shared. I tried to mod the newer version knowing it wouldnt work, out of boredom which means I now gotta wait a few days to play my custom songs. 1st world problems

If you didn't attempt to mod Beat Saber 1.13.2, old version might be at /sdcard/BMBFData/Backups/beatsaber-unmodded.apk

That sucks.

I updated the app without thinking it was modded. I attempted to mod it which didn't work, so attempted to restore my backup.

I get the error
A task failed. Check the tasks screen for more info. Premature end of stream, needed 1 more bytes

Everything online suggests it's a bad cable or connection issue, but tried several cables and USB ports etc.

It nice seeing the score of friends though and competing on the standard tracks. I even found a few I've never played

Sweet, so you can update Beat Saber normally on the Q2? I ignored the pop up thinking I would need to update manually/via sideloading.
I can't comment on the correct way of doing it as I updated before the mod was updated.

I think you should be ok with updating as normal, than use sidequest to update BMBF and patch away

Long time no post, but, today was a good day. Finished Two expert plus levels one after the other.

The extra songs.

One Hope (Ft. David Binney) and Crab Rave.

If you haven't tried Crab Rave, you should, it's great music to go Beat Sabering!! :)

Congrats on Crab rave! I've tried it a few times, just keep hitting small stretches that I can't quite pull through, got closer last time I think. Few more practices may crack it. There again, I'm mostly playing asgards wrath at the moment.
