Belgian Grand Prix 2015, Spa-Francorchamps - Race 11/19

Excuse me Jenson? Not loving F1 today? Didn't I see you quoted in the press the other week as saying the drivers had to lead the "love of F1" if they expected fans to do the same?

That new Honda advert where they use various Honda vehicles to simulate a spacecraft taking off... anyone else find it funny that they use the McLaren Honda F1 cars as the engines and have lots of flame pouring out the back of them?

Woah woah woah WOAH!

Vettel claims he didn't go off the track?!

Oh yes he damn well did! Cut the corner at Raidillon, as he'd been doing with alarming regularity this race.

Reminds me of a few years ago? Remember all the punctures at Silverstone? All the teams telling the drivers to stay away from the kerbs. What did they do? Kept ignoring it. Since so many cars were getting punctures.

I thought it was a hidden message. That they aren't going anywhere fast.

Rofl, at the it's Pirelli dangerous death tires, what absolute nonsense, it was clear tho everyone, that he had zero grip fir several laps and those tires were beypund shagged.

Saying there was no warning, haha. No just sliding out of every corner due to zero tires left. Combine that with kerbs and yup have only one outcome.

Ferrari to blame.

Absolute nonsense. The tyre shouldn't explode like that, if that was the case then don't you think the FIA would have enfored a rule whereby the driver MUST change tyres after they've been subjected to x number of laps? What if the tyre had exploded 200 metres earlier, as the car bottomed out on Eau Rouge, probably another death in F1 is what... Ferrari weren't to blame.

Agreed

What caused Rosberg's failure at 200mph, in practice? All I heard today was that Toto have found no evidence of the car causing it after running tests in FP3.

Where was the deg?

Wow.
No they would Lt enforce anything it's upto teams, what's a tire goes past it's structural limits at that point they wild' shrapnel due to sheer speed these things rotate. Like you know 99% of tire failures in F1.
If it happened 200m earlier he would have crashed and 99.9999% got out with no injuries. Once he had lost all grip and gone well over the cliff, they should have pitted him, end off.

I bet you the car data would show those tires were overheating, from lack of tread. Should have at least told him to stay if the kerbs with the reduced integrity. Pushed their luck and paid the price, not the first time we've seen things like this and won't be the last.

sensationalist rubbish

Having been away this weekend, listening to Vettel's interview it sounds like Rosberg had a similar issue that they all discussed at the earlier phase of the weekend. If they were that concerned about it, why run the tyres right to the ragged edge? What a pointless chance to try and take, what an even more pointless argument for getting upset.

Rosberg had problems and said he didn't go off track so we tried to run the tyres as long as possible and crossed our fingers it wouldn't happen to us? Bizarre attitude

Tyres should not explode like that, period. We are talking about lives and families being lost and ruined forever. I didn't see any signs of deg, or the car's back end stepping out, unless I'd dozed off, even if there were signs of deg, should we still expect the tyre to blow up like that and come off the wagon completely? The surface of the tyre should be worn, but the carcass should stay intact.

Lewis and Seb brought the issue of tyres exploding up in the driver briefing and were told to shut up by Charlie Whiting is why...

Yes yup dozed off. End had zero grip coming out if corners. They had had it. Even BBC commentators commented on it and they are dozy themselves.
And oh look more sensationalist, now it's family and death and hell and all sorts. Keep such nonsense out if debates, it doesn't help your point.

Once you lose tread, tires heat up beyond normal working temps and will compromise the integrity. Especially with these kerbs here.

But, theses tyres are not driven on just a normal surface are they? Lots of factors to be taken into consideration in a race

So?

That doesn't explain why he chose to try and run the tyres as long as humanly possible despite having personal concerns about their ability.

I repeat, if he was so concerned, why try it?

Charlie telling them to shut up isn't going to suddenly make them think the tyre is amazing and will be brilliant for a one stop
