will try take an upload some pics to show what I mean - not uploaded pics on here before, what's the procedure, does ocuk host them or what?

I recommend you use http://www.imageshack.us to upload your images to the web and then you can link them here - they're really easy to use and provide the code you have to paste in as well.

Looking forward to see the pics - thanks!

Okay, these were taken with the room fairly dark, no flash obviously...

1st one - doesn't look quite this bad in reality...

This one at a slightly slower shutter speed is a fairer representation

What do you think, is this normal, bad, average???

Ignore the 1st pic, doesn't look anywhere near that bad in reality.
The wallpaper is none, with pure black selected as the background colour. The light bleeds in from all 4 corners as you can see

Hmmm, not sure I can face the hassle of sending stuff back and getting replacements. I've never had to do it before (been v lucky)
What's the procedure, I only got this delivered from ocuk yesterday. Do I just RMA it back to ocuk? How do you post it too, will cost a fortune I should think, the box it came in is huge!

Is back light bleeding a good enough reason too, or am I covered by the 7 day buyer's right thing? Arrrrrrrrrrrg. Any help/ advice much appreciated...

You'd probably need to RMA it back to OCUK. I'd phone Belinea and see what they say too

You'll probably need to post it back in its original box which will cost a fair amount unfortunately. You might be lucky though - when someone at work had a faulty AG Neovo monitor they came and swapped it out with a new model. The delivery guy even waited for him to test the replacement

It should be a good enough reason - I'd be stunned if it isn't. I wouldn't accept the monitor like that - as you say it is very distracting. I've been playing FEAR recently, for example, and that could ruin some of the environments!

Can any other Belinea owners do the same - set your desktop to black and see if there is any light bleeding, and post some pics if you can? Make sure you don't use flash and choose a slow shutter speed.

Any idea how much it would cost to post a monitor, I haven't a clue?

Do you know how heavy it is?

To send it via Royal Mail Special Delivery with £500 compensation:

MAX WEIGHT______PRICE
-----------------------
100g_____________£3.85
500g_____________£4.25
1kg______________£5.35
2kg______________£6.95
10kg_____________£19.00

Hi there

All monitors have on-site warranty. You call the manufacturer who will send a replacement out for next day and take the faulty one away with them.

Cheers ajgoodfellow - not as bad as I thought. According to the manual it's 6.2kg in weight too.

However, I don't want to rma it back to ocuk for them to say nothing's wrong and just lose money (if you look at the support page this happens 50% of the time!).
How can I guarantee that they will accept it as being bad?

That's such a relief to hear. I feel a bit more secure in ordering mine soon now. :)

Ah thanks Gibbo - so you do it through Belinea not you guys. Also saves on the cost and hassle of posting.
Gibbo - looking at the pics I uploaded do you think it's worth getting a replacement?

I posted a photo of mine earlier in the thread

So you did, forgot about that :D . So the bottom black pic, there looks to be some light bleeding from the corners, but not as bad as mine, what you think? Can you notice it with the naked eye or does the camera only pick it up?
As my pics show depending on what settings you have your camera on you can get vastly different pics.

I have changed my settings to the same as yours now as all I did originally was turn down the brightness a bit. It does bleed worse than my old 17" but I dont think its bad by any stretch. The camera makes it look slightly wore than it did with my eye. also the screen does scale in VGA mode incase your interested.

sgoaty - looking at my second pic - would you send it back if you were me?

I really don't want to go through the hassle if I can help it. It is bugging me though, and probably always will.
I'm quite new to TFTs - could it get better by any chance, do they 'settle down', or is it likely to get worse, anyone know?

If it were me i'd send it back.
a lot of money to spend, and to not be happy with the result. :(

Hopefully your next one will be better if you choose to send it back.

Just my 2pence
