I just had a look at that site. Oh man, that's hilarious  ... and you have to purchase their monitors with great confidence :D

i hope you arent mocking the world hdmi cable charming championships 2006.

Im a bit bored with this monitor release now... for gods sake just bring it out and let a load of people review it so i know whether i wanna buy one or not. I cant be bothered with all this waiting.

I couldnt resist, iv placed my pre order :-D

Guess il be one of the first so ill be sure to post a review.

anyone else ordered?

I would appreciate it SOO much if you could include input lag in the review. :D

Just put a crt (assuming you own one) in clone mode next to it, run this app and take a photo like this. Then work out the difference. :)

theres no point me preordering it... i will only end up cancelling it when some proper reviews come out.

In the mean time... to fill my preorder void, im gonna play russian roulette with my gun.

I want to get this monitor but it costs too much money. They will probably go down in price to about £300 in a year or somthing anyway so I dont think it's worth all the money at the moment enless you are loaded. :D

O.K Thanks for your input..cu in a year

I really would like this monitor now :D But I think a lot of people are put off with the prices of LCD's dropping so fast at the moment. I hate to think that if I spend £650 on this monitor and then see somthing similar in a few months for about £200 or £300. Lucky for you if you've got the money though. :D

Ambro I can guarantee a monitor of this calibur will not drop to those levels in a year or even a few years. The way electronic equipment works you need to either bite the bullet and buy or live without the things you really want forever, as yes the price will drop, but after 2 years there will be a 3rd or 4th generation of a product out which is the same price as what the original product was released for, and do you really want to buy a 2 year old product at that point when the new ones are (hopefully) far superior? I dont think so...

Anyway, I want to thank everyone who has pre-ordered and look forward to their reviews. I am willing to drop the green on this baby if it lives up to the hype!

does the fp241wz lack 1:1 pixel mapping also?

Might be time to place my dell 2407 order then :p

Just a friendly warning, so you don't have to go through the hell trying to return it for a refund (I'm on the verge of getting my lawyer involved in my case).

Although the 2407 does 1:1 and 4:3 there is a bug in the firmware (With no fix to date) that prevents you selecting 1:1 or 4:3 at 1600x1200. If you need 1:1 pixel mapping, like I do, then don't buy the 2407. It doesn't do what it says on the tin!

A moot point anyway, since when you do set it to 1:1 or 4:3 at resolutions it will allow you to, you get terrible horizontal tearing making games almost unplayable anyway.

Oh did I forget to also mention:
- The terrible banding
- The Component inputs don't work
- Picture in Picture (PIP) always defaults to S-Video and if you change it it will shut PIP off and when you open it again it's back to S-Video. I.e. PIP is stuck in S-Video mode.

The 2407 is a PIG of a monitor, may it burn in hell for all eternity.

Thanks for that glimmerman... nice to find someone that can tell the truth about the 2407.

Theres no way im preordering the benq until i read some in depth unbiased reviews telling me it is the perfect 24" monitor (which it probably wont be). :p

Tell the truth i fedup waiting looking at 26" lcd tv aswell as my normal tv packed up, but will wait until fp241w out to deside what to get.

Thanks for your advice :D I wasn't certain how the pricing for monitor's work, I guess they could have reached a level were they don't lose value so much now. :)

Well I am mainly going to use this monitor for firstly graphics creation and secondly game content creation.

Most of what I want it for is my Half Life 2 MODs I am working on and since HL2 supports 16:10 ill be fine in regards to aspect ratios. Basically I wanted a really high res monitor that had all the inputs for various other thing such as my xbox 360 and soon wii / Ps3. So I guessing ill be really happy with my choice! If the rest of the monitor holds up that is but all in all I believe I’ve made a good pre order :-D
