Benq FP241W (Now available from OcUK!!!!!)

Aye know what you mean. The choice of 24" LCD monitors is just horrendous.

However I'm being optimistic at the moment. I've been using a 17" BenQ LCD for the last 3 years and its a great piece of kit. It still has many years of usefulness left in it.

Hopefully this will turn out to be as good as investment as my current monitor.

I really like the look of this tft. Hopefully 720p over component will be good so I can use my 360 on it. That's the main thing stopping me getting a 2407fpw.

Just had an update on the release date from BenQ:

Thank you for your email the launch date of the FP241w is actually
tomorrow the 1st August but stock will be limited and probably not in
free supply until the end of August.

Kind regards

BenQ UK.

I was gonna buy the Dell, but this looks nicer.

So does anyone know if the Z model is gonna be better or not.

And are OC gonna get some in stock soon.

12ms and 8ms GTG doesnt really impress me, even with BFI technology :(

Could someone give an example of how much BFI reduces the visual effect? Does it reduce input lag or ghosting due to the responce time?

but do you truly rely on quoted specs only? For instance the NEC LCD20WGX2 is rated as highly as the 2ms Viewsonic VX922 in real use, even though it's only quoted at 6ms G2G. Quoted specs are pretty much always exagerated. Some of the best and most popular models over the years have been the more modestly rated panels (the NEC, and memorably the Hydis 20ms TN Film panel) which have often outdone even the latest and greatest specs. BFI doesn't do anything to affect input lag but it is designed to help reduce afterglow and visual recognition of problems like blurring and ghosting. unfortunately there isn;t a lot of info on BFI at the moment, but BeHardware did have a look at show models recently here

Do I wait for this or get the Dell 2407WFP.

I just play PC games so do I need the HMDI (or something like that)

No DVI is fine for games, and to be honest I just bought a 2407 the other day waiting for delivery tomorrow

Phew thank god for that. For a moment I thought no-one was going to post in this thread for a whole day :D

Hello "My Real Name".
Thank you for your email this unit is in very high demand and 1st UK stocks have been delayed until September.

Kind regards

BenQ UK.

I have just been looking at the Benq website and it has no mention of 2 models of the 24" monitor on the spec sheet it fails to list component as a connection option but one of the pictures shows component.

Are we getting the Z model in the uk ? and will both units have component inputs?

I was browsing the 2407 thread at [H] and ended up following a link to dell's support forum, a guy on there reckon's he's got an A03 revision and that it's sorted the A01/A02's banding issues. Anyway, the point of my posting here is that someone thought that benq actually made the panels for dell, if this is true, then could the FP241W essentially be the A03 2407 with HDCP support?

Seems like Dell are using Benq to assemble their Monitors. Designs of the two Monitors are different, Benq has BFI, HDMI etc. Dells based on Samsung Panel whereas the Benq seems to be based on AU Panel.

Good find, Im glad Dells fixed issues with the 2407 with A03. Would be nice someone did a side by side review of the two Monitors.
