Bent CPU Pins?

Yeah, if he doesn't send my item back in perfect condition like I sent it to him, I'm just going to go to the Police again and let them handle it.

Have they said they'll do anything?

I know a few policmen and, from my understanding, they usually can't do anything for small e-bay related crime as it's one word against another.

It's not that they don't care it's just that there is nothing realistically they can do.

Hope they can in your case - good luck with it, i hope you get a result.

Its a shame i just read this,

I know someone that this happened to, wasn't a MB though, but it was sent to someone outside of europe and they contacted ebay stating it was damaged etc etc, ebay/paypal took the money back, but contacted the seller stating that they either send out a replacement unit or the full refund would be granted, they tried to explain to ebay they where being scammed but as usual ebay didn't want to hear it,

So they told ebay they would send out a replacement unit recorded delivery the next day, they went got an empty box put some paper into it, and posted it recorded delivery, person signed for it, then complained to ebay, all ebay asked for was proof that the "new" unit was sent, ***recorded delivery ****** the person got there money back, and the scammer got screwed.

But if they sent out the actual working item in the first place then the scammer hasn't really got screwed that much because they still have the original item?

Well the 10 days are up and today I escalated the case to eBay customer support. I re-wrote the entire explanation detailing how I know he is trying to scam me, stating I can provide evidence if necessary. I didn't want to bombard them again with all the links to the pictures so instead I referenced the case number for the report I filed against him over a week ago now.

A couple of hours later and I receive a massage from eBay:

Customer support has made a final decision and has asked the buyer to return the item to you for a full refund. 30 Apr, 2011 at 15:00
Final decision:
This case was decided in the buyer's favour.
Customer support comments:
For more information about this case, please refer to the email we sent you.
We passed this return information to the buyer.

Absolute 'base-tards', I don't think they even looked at the case at all. I am going to reply to the case I reported a week ago, as there they actually said they would take note of what I have sent them, and I will also contact the buyer telling him I have gone to the police on the matter and if I get anything other then my item returned to me in perfect condition as sent then they will be taking over the case.

A real pain in the rear, but I had a feeling eBay weren't going to listen.
That's terrible, what more evidence do they need than the guy sending you a photo of the claimed damage that pre-dates the auction?

What's your recourse going to be if (as seems likely) he sends back a completely different motherboard? It's not like you can tell eBay that he sent a different one back to the one you sold because that's the whole premise of why he was given a refund in the first place?

This just tells people not to sell on Ebay anymore and also tells scammers how easy it is to con people.

Really Pathetic of Ebay to side with the Buyer especially after the damning evidence against him.

Well if he does send me anything other than the item I sent him, in the same condition as was sent, then I'm just going to the police. However I am hoping I may not have to, just got a reply from the message of disappointment I sent to eBay after the verdict.

Hello ********,

Thanks for getting in touch about the item.

We're anxious to help you sort this out, but need more information to
review the case in full and provide you with a specific response.

Please reply to this email to let us know:

- The item number(s) of the item(s) in question
- Your eBay user ID and the user ID(s) of the other member(s)
- Any other information you think might help us resolve this

As soon as we hear back from you we'll start looking into this.

Kind regards,

eBay Customer Support

Perhaps they are willing to listen after all? I'm still not holding my breather however.

No nothing to report. After eBay emailed me saying they are anxious to help, I sent them the full report again, with all evidence. Not heard back yet. I have also not received my item back yet, or any indication that it has been sent. I am hoping that this is because eBay have told him not to do anything yet while they review the case properly.

Haven't heard from either eBay or buyer, but no money has been taken either. Really hope this is sorted soon, and in my favor, this is happening right in exam period!!

Mother-Fudger!

Knock knock at the door this morning at 8:45, which I open to find parcelforce there with a rather large package for me. I open it up to find my motherboard returned to me. I am almost certain this is my one. Although I didn't take down the serial number, I was in a hurry and forgot, pictures show all the stickers on the board match up perfectly, even their positioning and slight wear, and the box is definitely the same, and those serials match up, so I think it is the board I sent him.

So, I carefully take everything out, taking pics of the process as I go, and finally get to the CPU socket. I remove the cover and what do I find?

Those pins have been absolutely destroyed!! Not only that it looks like there are a load of scratches on the resistors in the middle! What the hell did this guy do to it?!?!?! I can only assume that as a last resort, after I told him I have evidence, everything documented etc, he felt he had to return my item I sent him, but that meant it had to be damaged, and went ape-**** on it!

Haven't heard back from eBay yet but I am definitely going to the Police with this, that is completely unacceptable! The annoying thing is I am in exam period. I have an exam on Wednesday, my report due Thursday, and two more exams and a presentation the week after. I don't know when I will have time to do all this. I don't want to wait too long. I think I should be able to finish my report by the weekend, so will go to the Police then.

This has completely ruined my day and it has barely started!

Some really mental and crazy idiot!!

I don't understant why some people just can't conduct themselves honestly in a business/trade transaction.

Serraph you should definitely go to police.
