US: Better Call Saul

I saw some negative reviews regarding episode 2. Some people just need to wait and enjoy the build up, this is where the real quality was - a really entertaining episode setting up lots of little plots.

good episode, we're just at the point of seeing Mike cross the line and do something he's uncomfortable with and we're probably about to see Jimmy get really annoyed with the corporate world after he potentially has a clash thanks to the commercial

I ****ing love this show. Seriously I dont get all the hate "oh if it wasnt connected to BB it would be crap" um no! Its a slow burner , but the characters are there and the story arcs are interesting. A show doesn't have to be in your face, to be good.

See I love it too, but I agree with what they're saying. If I didn't know the back story to Jimmy and Mike, I think it would be a completely different feeling.
It's slow, but I can see subtle nuances in those two characters which I wouldn't be able to without knowing them as well as we do.
It's the thrill of the expectation of what's to come that allows me to be excited on a slow show.
I think anyone without that would think it was crap.

Maybe, but that's irrelevant really. The fact is that BB was written before and it's highly probable that BCS would have been written differently if it wasn't for BB.

Well yeah, The James McGill character is tailored to the BB universe. He's moulded by the events that took place in BB and as such, if BB didn't exist then that character would have been very different in BCS in isolation.

BCS has BB written all over it from the way the cinematography is done to the characters.

But like I said surely that could be the reason some people don't enjoy it. It would be my guess they have't seen BB

Some people just don't enjoy TV/Films that are genuinely excellent anyway. There's no changing that.

Some people think Jessica Alba looks a bit elbows too pointy, for example.

Hi Guys,

What time is this available on netflix? 7pm? 8pm? I usually watch it later in the week even though it airs on Tuesdays but got nothing going on tonight so will watch ep4 as soon as it's up.

Cheers

That was an OK episode, quite good that Mike found a way to not completely cross the line in the end and Jimmy still at his corporate job... just. I'd guess this season is going to be the progression towards and will perhaps culminate with them ending up in their breaking bad personas though.

Good to see a couple more Breaking Bad characters, Tuco and the gun dealer.
