BF V(5) MP CPU ulilization

He was initially running it on Ultra with no problems, think he's dropped the settings slightly now for more frames.

I might throw the beta on the 1300x build tomorrow and see how it runs. But something seems amiss, performance seems to vary widely. I know it's multiplayer but it shouldn't be this much different.

Ah, if it's ultrawide and a 780 then it seems about right to be honest, don't think it has anything to do with driver focus. I'm on 1920x1080p, UW 1080p is ~30% more pixels and the 780 is also about 20~30% slower than a 970.

How
The video linked below is the actual benchmark here, its 13 minutes of Gameplay on a full 64 man server, its not camping away from the action, its me playing the game as anyone would, Highest Fidelity 1080P.

Average framerate : 78.4 FPS
Minimum framerate : 46.3 FPS (caused by Sutter, actual is 55 FPS) see reasons below.
Maximum framerate : 123.1 FPS
1% low framerate : 21.3 FPS (mmmm no, because i was recording it?)
0.1% low framerate : 2.0 FPS (lol)

Couple of things to note about that, the 46 FPS min didn't seem right to me, i never saw that in the game and i know all it takes is one stutter glitch to knock out a result like that, so i had a look for it, sure enough its the result of a lag stutter at 3:26, its the only time it happened, however i want to know what the actual Minimum Frame rates are, so i watched the FPS counter back in the video for 13 minutes :D there are two or three occasions where the frame rates go as low as 55 FPS without any stutter. so that's what i'm going with.
The 1% and 0.1% lows, yeah again that never registered on the counter which updates once a second, so i'm putting those down to stutter, perhaps writing to disk from recording it?

PS: for most of it my GPU is the bottleneck, i'm thinking about a 720P run.

I struggle to understand the lows, surely if you get low 1% and 0.1% then the min frame rate should be lower? Seems the lows drop when you die and re-deploy, if I could play without dying the lows would be quite high.

Just tried to bench it myself with my 1080Ti and 1900X @ stock (which is 3.9ghz all core) similar settings to the rest of you seems to play plenty smooth, mostly CPU pegged at ~50%

No joy recording, I just 10mins of a black screen and the audio with Afterburner.

Average framerate : 132.8 FPS
Minimum framerate : 90.7 FPS
Maximum framerate : 190.8 FPS
1% low framerate : 84.9 FPS
0.1% low framerate : 36.6 FPS

4K is a bit more tragic, need to see if I can fire up the second card.

Average framerate : 60.0 FPS
Minimum framerate : 47.5 FPS
Maximum framerate : 109.4 FPS
1% low framerate : 46.3 FPS
0.1% low framerate : 33.6 FPS

Decided to give it a try. It's using 16 threads with CPU usually hovering at 18-22% throughout. FPS was good at 1440p where it seemed to be capped at 60 for the short time I played. Tried 4k, saw that it was at 40fps, immediately switched back. Anyway uninstalled it after like an hour because it's not very good and I'm too terrible at battlefield to even enjoy it.

Again this is the run from that benchmark, unlike a lot of large reviewers i have provided the data for you to scrutinise.

Only just watched this properly, are you sure thats a 64 man server? Looks awfully quiet.
Mine is uploading now.

Ryzen struggles here it seems.
Nvidia drivers strike again.

Hmm, your definition of struggling is different from mine.

Well its not competitive is it?

If you watch the video he does test vega64, and all CPU's give the same performance. IE GPU bottleneck. We cannot test the theory of nvidias drivers until AMD give us a fast card.

Here is my video, settings at the start and I enable benchmarking part way through so you can see the values for yourself, none of these figures are pulled from the air. EDIT* I stupidly left vsync on!

Its only 720p at the moment, I think its still processing.
