BFG 8800 GTX/GTS arriving at OcUK soon and some images for you all!!

If nobody spent the expensive costs of the graphics cards id bet it wouldn't be so expensive, its idiots that waste their money on the first release that causes it..

I got the X1800XT when it first came out , what a moron :o

Don't like spending money? :D

Why the **** would I be jealous you saddo, it's a bloody graphics card. Some people are just trying to point out to others who already have bleeding egde stuff that money would be better spent elsewhere...hell I'm probably gonna go for a nice dual core after christmas...and maybe an R600refresh/8800 refresh. By the time QC is out...the same people will be wasting loads of dosh on it - with 2 cores sat twiddling their thumbs (unless of coure Alan Wake comes out anytime soon)...

You know what I mean, maybe i didn't put it that well....

i too am on the verge of delaying my new computer build, there is no game on pc worth getting until february so whats the point on having a fancy machine.

If the G80 was sold at rrp or slightly over it I would definitley buy it here. When I first heard about it I was looking to see if I could afford sli but after hearing the price been talked about, it would be very hard to afford or justify one from OcUK. They could surprise us yet and sell it at a *fair* price but I doubt it will happen as maximising profit in the short term at launch is what it's all about - unfortunate for the customer. Will be interesting to see how many they get into stock and how fast they sell out all the same.

Hoping my mate can pick one up in Frys at a reasonable price when he is over in LA next week. Fingers crossed.

Proberly be the best idea we should all get together find 10 Geforce 8800GTX buyers and add an extra £30 on top get some chap to go down to frys in America and come back with presents ;)

It would be so nice to actually spend about £350-400 on it cos then its not quite killing u at the sametime and its an option at least... shame.

It looks like my mate will be bringing back 4 if he can get them..as some other lunatics where I work want them as well. Not 100% sure yet...customs and all that. And for all we know they may well be impossible to get in the shops on launch day. Should know more this weekend as he is heading over Thur. and planning to go shopping over the weekend. Fingers crossed.

i know this customs things and all but if you put them in your luggage then you should be fine.. Just make sure hes got some cash in case he has to pay tax...Also about warrenty? would be a bit of a bugger if one of them was Duff. Thats one of the reasons i wouldnt get something of that price from america.

how big of a step up is this new card compared to a 7900GTX, is it like the old 9800pro which kicked booty?
That is what we all would like to know.

The difference in DX10 titles will be big but I doubt it will be much faster in DX9 or OpenGL titles, especially with a midrange/budget CPU like a AMD X2 dual core CPU.

I am hoping the difference will be massive but wouldn't be surprised if it isn't.
