BFG RMA question

So I guess the guy you bought it off never registered it?

Nope, it was an rma replacement for an 8800 i believe. Im almost tempted to open it up as ive a sneaking suspicion that the sli bridge cable could have come loose, that would explain the second gpu not showing up. Can't really though as to do that id have to remove the front shroud and it has a bfg sticker covering 2 screws. :o

If anyone is still alive in this thread...
How long did it take to get a reply after emailing BFG support?
Emailed them on the 14th and still no reply...
Think i should email them again?

Yeah , the bfgfixx.com address...
they sent like an automated/template email back within a few hours (after my first email) saying...

"If you are outside the US or Canada, please reply to this e-mail with the
following information:......"

I replied and then havent heard anything since :/

hmm , something abit odd , when I posted my card last week using there web form it was to a address in Wales , the status has just been updated to it got to there warehouse at 3 in the morning !.

I then checked the web form on this RMA and a earlier RMA and both now say to post to an address in Illinois USA , looks like the RMA's are going to the USA now. This must have happened some time after the 10th when my RMA was issued and printed off the nessary paper work (with the Wales address), would explain the changes I saw and why my RMA status took so long to update as the card is prob in the USA now.

Jeff what's going on here

I am so ANGRY!!

Okay guys, it seems BFG are failing. This friday the company would be a month since they recieved my card. According to the company warranty it states "BFG Technologies reserves the right to inspect and verify the defectiveness of any product returned. Please allow 48 hrs processing time once item has been received by BFG, and 3-5 days for shipping of the replacement product (shipped ground)."

Now how does that tally with a month huh?

Well I am now forced to take legal action, and was advised to give them 14 days to supply a replacement other wise legal action will be taken. This is what I am doing. I was informed last wednesday I was getting an upgrade due to stock levels (and they better due to poor standards). I called yesterday to find out that the warehouse didn't have an email from customer service, who said they emailed the warehouse that same day.

Good luck to you all!

p.s dont bother emailing Jeff, he is no help, I don't know if he works for them either. Just stick to your guns, and don't let them make you wait like I did.

Jeff certainly does work for them, he's in marketing as far as I know, which is probably why he is on a lot of hardware forums, making things get sorted out and thus boosting the reputation of BFG. He seems swamped in work it seems though, I sent him an e-mail on the 12th and only just got a reply yesterday.

Also, the US warehouse was closed on the week of the 2nd, which accounts for some of the delay.

As for threats of legal action, don't make me laugh.

I wouldn't say that, Jeff helped me get my card registered and setup the rma for me.

For what its worth, I requested an RMA on October 27th, got an RMA on the 31st. Posted my card by special delivery which they received next day though didn't update until 11th of November. Called BFG Wales to see what was going on, got told my card had been issued and should be with by the 13th or latest this Monday. Called again wondering why my card didn't arrive only to find out it apparantly wasn't issued...hmmm. Thankfully the guy I spoke to was very helpful and promised me he would email BFG USA and request the card be shipped by the end of the working day, this seems to have worked cause now my RMA status is showing shipped by FedEx as of today. I'm guessing they are really backed up with RMA's...I'll be willing to bet the awesome upgrades they were handing out and recent influx of returned cards is to blame, who knows?

Why do you say that? I've successfully recovered costs and damages from UK, US and European companies. Most people's mistake is to assume that companies like BFG and EVGA are US or German but BFG have a UK operation and they can be held accountable for their actions. Likewise EVGA have a German base but they are subject to EU law and when it comes right down to it, a good stiff solicitor's letter to the Company Secretary or equivalent generally puts your complaint to the top of someone's in-tray.

Has anyone else here had their card shipped from the US via FedEx and noticed anywhere on the Fedex tracking any details of what replacement is being sent? All I can find is a reference to my RMA #

Quite a few of them come from the USA. The card you are getting is there somewhere - you just need to look for the codes - it'll be something like XXXXXXGTX285OCXE.

Mine arrived today at bfg in wales, hasnt shown up as "arrived in warehouse" as yet but it can take a day or two for it to be updated.
