BFG RMA question

Waited two days to get the RMA number, card posted yesterday. Just hope the replacement works. I think we might be in for a bit of a wait with the hols just around the corner, but can't blame BFG for that. It was good to finally be able get that b*stard mailed back to them. Now as you say, a waiting game.

Just checked too make sure they have got my 9800GX2 I sent yesterday..
They have given me a Fedx tracking number, looks like Im getting something back tomorrow.. dunnow what tho.. have too wait and see..
Far too quick that prolly my old card back.....lol

My 8800GT OC in old rig has just randomly died still 2months left on the 2 year warranty or is it a liftime warranty I bought it feb7th 2008 ?. Emailed then 12 hours ago with the problem and request for rma, still nothing and after reading this thread im not getting my hopes up for a quick rma.

Replacement card just turned up....
No info in box just card.
Recon 9800GX2 differant serial number, Cant get it booting from DVI but Hdmi works fine, I`ll try more later and test it more.. lots todo today...

Cant fault the turnaround once the card was send 3 days, just took a bit getting RMA number..

Nice work BFG..

Happy Christmas Everyone..

Mailed old card yesterday and about half an hour ago FedEx turned up in the snow with replacement! Got a GTX 280 OC which is a bit of a disappointment but to be honest the entire process has been a chore so thinking at the moment I'll suck up the downgrade. Plan to upgrade as soon as (if) NVIDIA decide to release the Fermi cards anyway. I just hope that the card works, given it's age. I suspect it's probably a refurb but hopefully it was tested thoroughly before leaving the depot. I am not at home over the hols so it all depends on whether it will physically fit in the computer I'm using right now. Right now I got to bash on with wrapping pressies though. Humbug.

Clatchy, Good to hear you got yours also. Hope all is well with that.

Merry Christmas everyone!

If you use the link below you should be able to fill out an email request. Site is online so may be an issue at your end?

http://www.bfgtech.com/contacttech1.aspx

If you need an actual email address I can probably dig that out off my work email account. Bouncing around between lots of different machines these past few days and it's a bit chaotic.

I have to do a test or two, but I believe my 7800GTX has failed as I am seeing the same symptoms as many users here (no video on boot, started off that some cold boots would have the symptom and resets would fix it now it happens all the time).

I think I have an ancient ati 9600xt lying around that I guess should be compatible with my motherboard - it was pci-e want it? Anyway anyone have any idea what RMA card model I would get for it?

Finally got my RMA info last night after several days of waiting and reminding them the other night.

The quality of the service has plummeted since the last time i used it only a month ago.

The first email arrived about 3 days after my initial contact and was written in block capitals with only the bare minimum of information. I then got another poor quality email asking for my details which is replied to quickly however after a few days i got the same email again but written in a more professional manner, again i replied with my details and 4 days later still no email with my RMA details.
Yesterday i fired off another email today i got a response with the RMA info but instead of a link to a page where i can print a shipping label etc im simply given the address. Luckily i have the old RMA email so i used the old url with the new RMA number to generate my shipping labels.
Huge let down compared to the prompt and professional service i received the last time around.

I dunno whats going on, ive noticed jeff seems to be absent from here and the hardocp forum, and this all has conincided around the time fatboy said they were pulling out of europe.

A month ago the service was pretty good, but since early december it seems to have dive bombed.

Well I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, if you look at the full thread history it was about this time of year that Jeff went on holiday last year and things always get a bit slow over christmas no matter if you have full cover or not. If nothing happens after the 4th then I would start to be concerned.

My update:

monday 21st - sent my card special delivery
wednesday 23rd - bfg sent me a replacement card
thursday 24th - received my replacement card from fedex

I was really chuffed even though it is a refurb card but I got back what I had sent in a 280 GTX OC.

Well I put it in my pc and all seemed well ....but now I cant play any games because when i do after 5/10 mins when it warms up a bit I get a purple screen covered in lots of little tiny artifacts and then it just crashes.

I'm not happy to say the least. It means going through the hassle of returning this one now and why should I be paying £8.65 to post it back to them again. Surely this time they should arrange a collection or something?

So much for 10 years warranty and 24/7 tech support. All they have probably done is put it in a reflow oven and then not even tested it properly :(

Sounds like borked ram.

They can arrange a collection but it can take upto 5 days, i was given that option on my last rma but i decided to post it off myself.

Send them another email to remind them, i got a response fairly soon after i did, all be it without the usual link to a page to print the shipping label.

I sent my card away and it arrived on the 1st however i can only assume they were closed going off the tracking info, they should have been left some info to go pick it up, however something is telling me they wont so im probably going to end up phoning them in wales to tell them to go pick it up.

Get on the blower to them, seriously you'll be waiting ages if you don't.
