BFG RMA question

Received my 9800GTX last week and it works fine. However just decided to have a look at GPU-Z and it seems the memory clock is at 1100mhz instead of the 2200mhz mentioned on the BFG website unless I am reading the wrong thing? Can someone else confirm what there 9800GTX memory clock is please.

Similar to regular RAM, with GDDR3 you have double effective data rate. The effective clock speed is 2200 MHz, but the actual clock is 1100 MHz. GPU-Z reports the latter.

Could i still rma an old bfg 8800gts 640mb card, (started artifacting tonight). I still have the invoice for this card, though i dont think it was ever registered, card was purchased from ocuk on 17/jan/2007.

Yes, my card was purchased in June of that year, they didn't ask me for an invoice or anything just some number off the card itself.

No problem. Some manufacturers don't make this clear, although it's the norm to quote the effective data rate. Hope your RMA keeps on working. My third replacement has been going for about a week now so fingers crossed it's sorted this time.

Hi just had to send my BFG GTX280 back hope I get a working card back after reading this thread though don't think im going to build my hopes up to high

Got my replacment card back today only sent my old card off on Friday affternoon so far it seem's ok i just hope it stays that way

For the love of god. Apparently in order to RMA the broken RMA I have to sign up to their website and give them all my details again.

But of course, the blasted website won't register the card because it wasn't shipped to me with a BFG serial number, good job lads!

This so stupid, they won't RMA without the card being registered on the website even though they shipped it to me.

<insert swearies in appropriate places>

Wish I could go back in time and buy EVGA, they cross-shipped their RMA to me with an apology.

Oh the joys of the BFG support site. Took me a while entering various permutations of the plethora of numbers on two of my faulty RMAs. It's actually the Nvidia serial number (on the back of the PCB) you want to use minus the zeroes at the start of the sequence, so that the code begins with 8 IIRC, and should have 12 digits. Simple, right?

I just emailed support directly and they asked for the following details to process the RMA.

If you would like to setup a warranty replacement RMA, and are currently in the US
or Canada, please contact BFG via phone at 1-866-BFG-FIXX (1-866-234-3499).

If you are outside the US or Canada, please reply to this e-mail with the
following information:

Full Name:
Phone Number:
Full Shipping Address:
E-mail Address:
BFG Model Number: (Will most likely start with BFGR)
Serial Number: (Will most likely start with 006 or G)

Once we have this information, we can continue setting up your replacement order.

Hopefully the process will go through without a hitch.
