You shouldn't need to register it as its an old card unless they've changed there policy. Just try and register it any way and don't complete the receipt part and do the RMA.

7800GS agp?

On these cards registration was not a pre-requisite for warranty to be valid.

Registration rule came in to effect on 8800 and above cards purchased after Feb (or April) 2008

cheers for the info, just seems placing the card in the box a bit 'bare' without another box for it to go in :p

anyway how quick do you have to send the card to bfg when you open an rma? is there like a deadline?

You will probably end up with three GTX 285's. Something quite similar happened with me. (fingers crossed)

The 9800 GTX in my spare system is currently playing up, I think I'll wait for all this airline business to settle down before proceeding with an RMA.

Just had Email cards are on the way back from the US replaced with the same model i sent out 8800GTXOC hope they work ok

Just RMA'd..

Hey - thought I'd add on to this..

Great service - One I'd finally got an RMA number out of them..

2 BFG 8800 Ultras went pop and I sent them both in - RMA'd successfully - But am receiveing 2x 250 1024OCE's in return.

Probably a fair swap (efficiency vs power etc..) so not too gutted - I would have liked some 260's though.. :)

Cards sent in to RMA on the 20th - Will see the 250's on the 29th (shipped from USA)

Maybe I am being thick but is the GTS 250 not a 9800GT aka 8800GT? If so the 8800 Ultras would be considerably quicker no?

I read through a few reviews on the 250 as I thought the same thing, however, while the ultra does pack a small amount of extra fps, the 250 makes up for it in power consumption and heat leading to better overclocks etc. Which is why it could be perceived as being equal to the ultra - the 260 is a massive upgrade so I guess that if they can get away with sending a 250 they will. At least it's the 1024 version!

I guess so...

Once I'd called the company direct I had no problems sorting an RMA - My original query through email and website lasted over two weeks with limited responses!

Expecting my replacements to arrive either today or tomorrow - I'll keep you updated on whether I receive working replacements or company defects!

well i got mine back today which was damn quick! and i got the same model back, 8800gt, not sure if the card they sent me is new or refurbished, i would assume its refurbished and maybe with a bios upgrade since they dont make 8800gt anymore, slightly disappointing. but i just hope it lasts!

well i think i got shafted too, the one they sent back had a lose backplate and the sticker is now falling off, its been working, but when i go into windows after 5minutes it freezes and stops, not sure if the ram has gone faultty too

tbh if the card is only a couple of years old. id go back to the retailer and try and get a refund using SOGA. you bought the card and its not fit for purpose and the supposed " lifetime warranty" isnt worth the paper its written on when they return the faulty cards

email support seems to be dire.( im waiting for a reply to a query reference a psu form 7 days ago)

i know its a long shot but it might be worth a punt.

I'm getting a little bored here, kinda kicking myself for not going EVGA. Apparently my RMA has been referred to the US for completition due to stock so I guess that isn't an upgrade but my card back would be nice.

Card sent 6/04/10
RMA status finally updated to show recieved even though tracking said it was next day on 12/04/10
Just had an email saying it should be completed "shortly". :(
