BFG RMA question

Sadly I saw this coming months ago. After I tried to rma my GTX 8800 with them.

Still have a BFG GTX 295 and 260, so both have no warranty now I'd guess.

I have a BFG 8800 OC2 that has gone belly up, so i gather sending it in is a waste of time now.

So much for a lifetime warranty, maybe they should be more specific on what "life" they are talking about when they said that....a hamster perhaps.

Still waiting for email from them... I'll give them a call tonight.

Maybe "Life of BFG"?

They do have a legal responsablilty to provide support.. but i had'nt realised jeff had left, looks like i got my RMA in his final week.

Saying that:

In May, BFG Tech announced they were exiting the graphics card business, but now HardOCP believes the entire company is about to go **** up:

We are being told this morning by sources inside BFG Tech that its "PSU department" has been let go. I would suggest that if you have a BFG card that needs to be RMA'd, you need to get that done ASAFP. We do not see the company being "in business" much longer as it is reported that all its remaining inventory has been moved.

And if they're about to go bust you may never see your RMA'd card ever again. Therefore, if the fan has gone pop, simply buy a new one, though if it's the entire card you may SOL.

Well I got a new address in ilinois to send it to. Sod that I aint paying again for postage, I already wasted 8 quid. I am going to ceremoniously smash the card to bits with a hammer when I get home today and feel great about it.

A friend of mine sent his GTX285 off for RMA a few weeks back (not sure where he sent it), this morning he received what looks like a brand new GTX480.

Lets hope it's working fine as he has agreed to sell it me quite cheap:):D

Guess them sending GTX480s for faulty GTX285 definately means they are going under! :D

the 285 was the 3rd faulty card in under 9 months

Don't think the made/sold many of them either. (480's)

As for them going under, the main indicator would be the fact that most major US based e-tailers have very limited stock of BGF parts in their inventory

I have just spent 15 minutes on the phone with Jason in BFG and he says they never made any 400 series cards despite what is being said on their site. The site had all the information on the 400's before they pulled out the graphics business and they have not updated it. My GTX 295 has been with them since the end of May and he tells me that the turn round (for GTX 295) from receipt of faulty card to sending a new one out is between 45 and 60 days, so it should not be long before a new one is sent out. He even checked the status of my RMA and advised that it was 49 days, so if he is telling the truth, it should not be long. Fingers crossed.
